Once again, agreeing wholeheartedly about the Brooklyn pants. Since the Air Essentials fit me like crops (which I don't wear), the Brooklyn pants were the answer! You demonstrate here just how very flattering they are, and I could wear them everyday. For me, they are perfect! I love the preppy look, being a classics girl. I remember when Glamour magazine used to publish their college issue in the fall and it was the epitome of preppy! Just love it! Nautical is one of those looks that seems to always be in style and easy to wear. You look so cute in that red outfit...I can see why you like it so much! Those pants just make you think of tropical summers! There's definitely something for everyone in the trends you mentioned today!
I love these looks, especially the navy and white. I took a lot of white bottoms (Bermudas, crop pants) to Florida and felt comfortable and smart in them. I was worried about stains but everything survived well. When it’s really hot I find the crisp white just looks so nice. I paired the bottoms with navy, patterns, stripes and other solid colours. So versatile!

Hi Cathy Love your channel. A bit on the peplem. Create your own. Try a belted blouse look. Wear the belt at your natural waist, over a top that is slightly larger. I wear a 1x top, but will wear a 2x blousened. You will create a waistline and the bottom part below the belt peplems out at the hip. This will reveal your hips as smaller because of how the belted blouse now will pull away slightly. Love this look on me. I wear 3/4 quarter sleeves or rolled up with a bangle and drop earrings, and nice watch to complete a look. Very flattering. Hubs is always like, "Wow! You look great!"

The striped sweater you had on at the beginning of the video looks great on you! I also like horizontal stripes, and had a stylist once tell me to not be afraid of horizontal stripes! Totally agree with prints tips. I can't pull off a big print. Old navy had/has an olive green dress with a white floral toile type motif it is very flattering. Only thing is the sleeve opening is too large. I tried brand "northstyle" dress green and blue white daisy print. Very flattering. I did alter it 4" at the waste due to length even though it said it was 18 petite. Love your inspiration and drive to preserve. Keep the candle burning! ❤

I love all of your outfits but I still look at myself in a dress or skirt and all I see is a fat lumpy woman, even though I’ve lost around 16 lbs! I love my Athleta Brooklyn pants. They are so comfortable, I reach for them all the time. Athleta works much better for me than Spanx. The waistband on the Spanx is so tight. I gave away my white Spanx stretch twill pants and rarely wear my black Spanx skort as the material is very heavy and I live in Central Florida. You look fabulous, BTW!
Regarding maxi dresses. I am 5' tall and I've solved the "maxi dress problem for petites" by buying midi dresses that are actually maxi on someone my height! If you are ordering online, hopefully the seller has the length of the midi dress which you can then compare to your own measurement from shoulder to right about your foot. Or if you are at a store look at the dresses that are called "midi" and you might find that will help a lot! I've found some really great "maxi" dresses, buying midi dresses! LOL!!

One of the major shifts since Covid IS the change in office wear. I am loving the elevated athleisure/everyday look for work and play! I also love the Spanx pieces-- and I have gifted them to both my sisters and my mom. My favorites are the skort and the polo. Not sure Peplum is a real trend -- as you are right, they are very hard to find. Do you have the Spanx peplum tank? I'd love to see it. Love white but no red for me. I really dislike it-- no red on my body, my lips or in my home lol. I am confident and have a strong personality but still, no red!

I got the skort that I think you recommended from Talbots. I started with the navy and liked it so much I went back and got the black. Now I have a different brand in cranberry too. I ditched all of my capris and I was happy to find something else as an option.
I love your looks. But I always wear shorts in the summer. I live in the south and it’s just too darn hot to wear a dark color or pants. I probably won’t wear pants until fall or maybe even winter. It has to be chilly for me to wear pants. I do own some skorts. And I do wear them if I want to look nice. I have a doctor’s appointment in a few days. I may wear my white shorts there. I just need to find a t shirt to wear with it. I have a red t shirt that says Atlanta on it. I live a few hours away from there. But I like it. I don’t wear sleeveless tops. I just got a linen sleeveless dress I bought. But I will wear a thin blouse with it to cover my arms.
Trying over several years, I have never found a Peplum top that looks good on me. Maybe because I am on the tall side they do not hit at the right spots???
Create your own peplem look using a tunic and a belt. See my comment above. I can never find a style that hits me right. But my go to is always to belt. You hide your tummy as you blousen a slightly larger top than is your size above the belt. Let the bottom half of the blouse flow and skim the hips. Legs and hips look slimmer because of the blousened appearance. As an apple shaped lady, this has been my go to look for years. I receive many positive opinions and I feel very confident in my days going to work or out and about.

I got the skort that I think you recommended from Talbots. I started with the navy and liked it so much I went back and got the black. Now I have a different brand in cranberry too. I ditched all of my capris and I was happy to find something else as an option.

I love your looks. But I always wear shorts in the summer. I live in the south and it’s just too darn hot to wear a dark color or pants. I probably won’t wear pants until fall or maybe even winter. It has to be chilly for me to wear pants. I do own some skorts. And I do wear them if I want to look nice. I have a doctor’s appointment in a few days. I may wear my white shorts there. I just need to find a t shirt to wear with it. I have a red t shirt that says Atlanta on it. I live a few hours away from there. But I like it. I don’t wear sleeveless tops. I just got a linen sleeveless dress I bought. But I will wear a thin blouse with it to cover my arms.

Trying over several years, I have never found a Peplum top that looks good on me. Maybe because I am on the tall side they do not hit at the right spots???

I can never find a style that hits me right.
But my go to is always to belt.
You hide your tummy as you blousen a slightly larger top than is your size above the belt. Let the bottom half of the blouse flow and skim the hips.
Legs and hips look slimmer because of the blousened appearance.
As an apple shaped lady, this has been my go to look for years. I receive many positive opinions and I feel very confident in my days going to work or out and about.
