At the end of this video, I learned two things:

They just need to make it tough solar and I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Why do you need solar? Takes 5 minutes to replace every two years. To put it in perspective, that's 5 minutes out of 1051200.
I don't know why people just keep saying they want solar. I mean you can't wear it i formal occasions and suppose you keep it cupboard for a month or 2. It will discharge isnt it?
Just bought one for 138 bucks. If it had solar that'd add probably another hundred. I'm good with it as it is.

No, it won’t .
Power save mode.
With solar, you don’t have to open the watch, risking to compromise the water resistance, also a risk to damaging the threads in the plastic case.
All of my G-Shocks are solar, except for my GD-350, which I own for the vibe function.
@@JamesV1 I really doubt that the battery will last 2 years with bluetooth, step tracker and backlight, etc. Plus the fact that if we can spare the batteries, the environment says thank you. Plus I don't believe that most users will open up the watch and change the battery. It can be tricky with tiny parts etc. We are in 2021 and a "smart watch" does not have at least a rechargeable battery, it's a no go for me
I like GBX-100, but GBD-200 looks better, no question about that.
I got both of them too. But i always wear gbd200 during work. I like the display and design.
Ive dealt with them both now, and both are nice watches. But GBX-100 is not "superior" to the GBX-200. Theyre just a bit different.
And in my own humble opinion the GBX-200 has the clear edge betweeh them both. Better looking to begin with, better edges, a clearly better strap. Even the back of the GBX-200 watch looks more refined and planned while as the GBX-100 looks more oldschool and simple. And the GBX-100 metalbezel unfortunally gets scratched up badly pretty quick.

I own both. Got the white GBD200 and the black GBX100 as shown. Yes the 100 metal bezel scratches so easily. The 200 feels so much better I wish I had gotten it in black and skipped the 100

Great video thanks, such clear shots of the 2, I’m undecided but I reckon the GBD 200 looks better and I’ll only be using it as a watch (plus timer, stopwatch, alarms and occasionally WT) like a standard square so I think I’ll go for the one I prefer the overall look of, i would use the tide graph but you can’t fast forward the hours of today to see what the tide is later on unlike my Gulfman, that omission is a huge let down for me, I don’t want to just know the current tide, I want to know later so I can plan my day, oh well.

I love my Glide but I could appreciate the slimmer profile GBD-200. Glad Casio went with the large rubber/plastic buttons instead of the horrible tiny metal ones on other models. I’ll wait for the price to drop to add a 200 to my collection

I like design of gbd-200 but i like the benzel of gbx-100 too 🤣
Finally i can afford my first G-shock, and that is GBX 100-NS (Night Surfer edition)
this is what I have as well. You'll be in love with it! I paired mine with the black combi bracelet V2 and its soo light and easy to put on & take off. Bracelet is expensive, but totally changed the look and function of the special edition watch for the better!
Next time could you please demonstrate the light functions of the watches you are reviewing?
Just got the gbd... I was waiting more than year to find the gbx in Sweden, it never appeared. I am so happy with the gbd. That could sell for more than 500$. Love it.
Pls tell Casio to add 1. Tough solar 2. Band 6 to GBX & GBD even better, come with a full metal version!!!

So... Gbx-100 lacks in GPS sharing with smartphone? This would be a good reason for me to choose the new GBD 200 instead. They could have done also for GBD the same wonderful blue greenish color of the GBX, would have been elegant but also uncommon, flashy lime is wonderful but not for every day use in office
GBX100 does GPS sharing with the smartphone via casiomove app, it doesn't have map tracking like on a fitbit but it does measure distance travelled which is what you expect out of a "hybrid smart watch" the software is the same on both models other than tide/sun rise/set
This is a personal view:
For those who're working with smartphones far from the sea, like me, GBD-200 would be better with this - smartphone notification via Bluetooth with vibration. With this, users won't have a chance to miss any calls, emails, text messages, etc. from their phones.

The GBX-100 has softer rubber band and double holes compared to GBD-200. The GBX also doesn't have the plastic lug part to hold the wrist.. Forget the name
How come the GBX-100 is "superior" to the GBD-200 ?
Seems they are pretty much the same except for the surf and run function.
bezel, buttons and band is superior in my opinon, had tried both on at the shop, the GBD-200 definitely feels slimmer on the wrist, however GBX-100 has such a nice bezel design, better textured buttons, more minimalistic text (everything is black/white, no orange) and a much better strap. There's also small notches on the retainer which acts as a secondary restraint for the watch, I assume it's for water activities to stop it coming off.
@@cbb08 was leaning more on the 200 for looks and function. But now that you mentioned better straps on the 100..
@@Qjemuse I tried on the GBX100 and I vastly preferred the comfort of the GBD200 straps. Plus it was a little cheaper so I went with the GBD.

Are GBD 200 the straps soft like the GBX? Can you use DW 5600 straps on the GBD 200 like on the GBX?

At 1:11 In the GBD-200 watch there is a semi transparent plastic looking thing at the start of the watch. Is that black or dark green?
It’s black. Translucent, it’s the connector between the strap and the watch

@@costantineyoussif6679 you can buy a recently released version of the stainless gbx-100, but the steel bezel has been darkened making it less flashy.

I could buy the GBX 100 for the price of the GBD 200 so I chose the GBX ...
The best thing about this watch to me is that it's not much bigger than a DW 5600. These new releases are awesome and Casio did a great job with them
