However, the fact is, this channel is doing extremely well and the majority of RUclipsrs will never reach this level, whatever they do. But overall, yeah, I enjoyed watching this too.

As a accountant and new RUclips'r I have come to the realization that RUclips is strictly a hobby based on Ads alone. Considering equipment costs, time etc its hobby for 98% of people here.
I say "good for you!" I was a bit surprised at the amount you are getting. (Meaning it was more than I thought) Each one of us have the same opportunity as you. Anyone who is going to fuss about your income, is just lazy and jealous. Those people need to work as hard as you! Keep up the great work! I hope it triples this year!!
I think this video is just the motivation I need to get serious about this platform. I’m still getting checks from the Googs almost every month for videos I shot over 8 years ago! Not much but it’s something! I only have 12k subs and haven’t uploaded in ages but I’m a lazy bum. That being said, I’m still surprised to this day that some of my videos are in the millions of views and the channel has more than 14 million views total. I’m still unsure about what drives vitality but I’m certain that consistency, diligence and perseverance + an open and relatable personality = constant RUclips revenue. I just hate all the game ads I have to put up with these days but it’d be ironic for me to complain when my videos serve the same things! Been a RUclipsr for several years. If RUclips "wanted" to promote a video, they could with their "bot". Working harder doesn't work most times, gotta work smarter and be popular, sexy, a gamer, of shock-factor junkie, etc-etc. Well done video Dr Jake...thanks for your openness.
Advertise yo. Don't expect RUclips to promote you. Get on Facebook and post in groups that fit your channel's theme. Craigslist, online discussion boards, etc etc. Dane Cook.... Look at his methods and commitment. He advertised himself. He promoted himself. He's a legend of a comedian now. You have DIY in your name so I'm guessing you do "how to" videos. Get on Craigslist and respond to everyone looking for help with whatever task. Be like "Hey, I have a great video explaining how you can do that. You'll save X amount of $ and it will only take X amount of time. Blah blah here's a link. Do that in every major city on Craigslist and you'll have thousands of people to email. Rather than looking at videos of how much other people are making go find your audience and don't expect them to walk up to you. Well... To be fair my best job was a millionaire who just walked up to me. BUT that was me spending my last bit of money on decals for my truck, so that's me advertising. Best $100 I spent and totally worth not eating for a day or two. Most people are not willing to make decisions like that. They would have bought food, I'm willing to starve.
This is very informative. Affiliate programs are evidently lucrative. Makes me know that when I see a RUclipsr with a massive list of their gear in the description, they are swimming in potential income.

Refer it as filler videos not actually entertainment content, because when they don't have anything exceptional to show off, it's oftely referred as merchandishing their persona instead of creating a new actual content, and as most I see, people with lot of subs will just trend it off seeking sometimes the most searched content to stay up the line even if someone can really catch their eyes and emotion when that particular game or product is hated by that youtuber cause it's not interesting for them but for you it's interesting, so they think it's a wild rollercoaster not being able to do what they want but they try to turn up their followers with content people asks even when they really would evade it totally.

This was awesome, gives smaller channels a much better idea and something to aim for. Problem is RUclips instead of taking only a month to confirm Montinization, will take between 6 months and a year to actually start paying the tiny amount of money you do make.

Very true account of what you can get. It's not all easy money, my very small channel is not monetized but I still have to put about 10 to 15 hours per week to get a video ready, so even as a hobby/interest it requires some input on the creators part. If you can make some lolly out of it why not.
Agreed. Look at guys like AlecSteele, poor kid is working 10-14 hour days to get content daily for his viewers. That's a ton of time and HARD work, these channels deserve every penny they earn. Doesn't bother me at all if a RUclipsr is making a ton of cash providing good content, shoot I even support a few on Patreon too.

No idea what he works (only found the channel just now) but if he considers the $10K nice pocket money he probably makes more than 40K on his real job. Therefore, in total he'd be in a quite high tax bracket which would eat into the 10K generated from yt. But still, even if it only gets him 5 grand from a hobby, that's not too bad.
You can try again even if it's a simple video once a week that's what I'm trying to do been a few months since my last post but that's because I'm working on a big one I hope will begin my growth lol

Been a RUclipsr for several years. If RUclips "wanted" to promote a video, they could with their "bot". Working harder doesn't work most times, gotta work smarter and be popular, sexy, a gamer, of shock-factor junkie, etc-etc. Well done video Dr Jake...thanks for your openness.
Advertise yo. Don't expect RUclips to promote you. Get on Facebook and post in groups that fit your channel's theme. Craigslist, online discussion boards, etc etc.
Dane Cook.... Look at his methods and commitment. He advertised himself. He promoted himself. He's a legend of a comedian now.
You have DIY in your name so I'm guessing you do "how to" videos. Get on Craigslist and respond to everyone looking for help with whatever task. Be like "Hey, I have a great video explaining how you can do that. You'll save X amount of $ and it will only take X amount of time. Blah blah here's a link. Do that in every major city on Craigslist and you'll have thousands of people to email. Rather than looking at videos of how much other people are making go find your audience and don't expect them to walk up to you.
Well... To be fair my best job was a millionaire who just walked up to me. BUT that was me spending my last bit of money on decals for my truck, so that's me advertising. Best $100 I spent and totally worth not eating for a day or two. Most people are not willing to make decisions like that. They would have bought food, I'm willing to starve.

Refer it as filler videos not actually entertainment content, because when they don't have anything exceptional to show off, it's oftely referred as merchandishing their persona instead of creating a new actual content, and as most I see, people with lot of subs will just trend it off seeking sometimes the most searched content to stay up the line even if someone can really catch their eyes and emotion when that particular game or product is hated by that youtuber cause it's not interesting for them but for you it's interesting, so they think it's a wild rollercoaster not being able to do what they want but they try to turn up their followers with content people asks even when they really would evade it totally.

You've got another subscriber in me now for showing us all what we really wanted to know. Hopefully your honesty in this video will end up making you a lot of money (we'll need a follow up video to tell us how much 😉😂). This was awesome, gives smaller channels a much better idea and something to aim for. Problem is RUclips instead of taking only a month to confirm Montinization, will take between 6 months and a year to actually start paying the tiny amount of money you do make.

Very true account of what you can get. It's not all easy money, my very small channel is not monetized but I still have to put about 10 to 15 hours per week to get a video ready, so even as a hobby/interest it requires some input on the creators part. If you can make some lolly out of it why not.
Agreed. Look at guys like AlecSteele, poor kid is working 10-14 hour days to get content daily for his viewers. That's a ton of time and HARD work, these channels deserve every penny they earn. Doesn't bother me at all if a RUclipsr is making a ton of cash providing good content, shoot I even support a few on Patreon too.

MetalJ3oss what 40% tax on £10K .... I don’t think so. You only get taxed 40% once you earn over around 44K. But on 10k no! ...
@@Lindsaysworldviews1987 well, he has a real job, too, so basically all income streams are added up before tax is calculated. No idea what he works (only found the channel just now) but if he considers the $10K nice pocket money he probably makes more than 40K on his real job. Therefore, in total he'd be in a quite high tax bracket which would eat into the 10K generated from yt. But still, even if it only gets him 5 grand from a hobby, that's not too bad.
