Recorded and mixed by Thomas Donohue in Broderick's recording studio Kilkenny.
Kit - Yamaha Birch Custom Absolute , Snare - Yamaha Hybrid Maple Absolute
Cymbals - 20' k custom dark ride, 19' A custom medium crash, 16' a custom crash, 16' oriental china, 14' A series New Beats.
Cameras - Go Pro Hero 3 Black edition

I know this is by no means a technically difficult song to play but I wanted something easy to start with when I was warming up in the studio. Also no matter how easy the song is if you play it with a bit of energy you can make it enjoyable. I have one or two more songs to upload from this recording session. If the vibe is good I will go back to do a more covers in the studio in the near future. Let me know your thoughts below , Cheers Colm .

Yep, the cymbals are too low. For example the china is barely audible . But this is an audio engineer issue easily fixable. On the other hand, snare, toms and bass sound great. Keep it coming!

It's good to listen to the "haters" because often they're not just hating, but providing genuine criticism which could be learned from in order to improve. If you never listen to anyone who gives honest criticism, you're going to struggle. In these studio videos, the majority of people, myself included, find the kit, especially the cymbals, to sound a bit too compressed. I'm sure in real life the kit sounds fantastic and this is nothing to do with his amazing playing, but it is something that should probably be ironed out by whoever is responsible for the mixing of the audio.

At the studio the drums sound legit, specially the bass, but the cymbals, well, I miss the sound at the atic, and for me, the way you play needs to be noisy and explosive at every hit
There is definitely a different vibe in the attic, but it also has a lot to with his mixer.
I think he just decided to mix it that way for this song

He is likely playing with the pitch/gain of the mics to reduce the volume and sound of the cymbals to fit the songs. Also, that ride cymbal is generally quieter than the other ones he has.

Dude colm who cares if the songs you play are technically easy cause you habe the ability to make songs enjoyable like there's songs I'm not necessarily a fan of but you'll do a cover on it and I'll love it. Just keep up the good work you're an inspiration and I still watch some of your old tutorial videos to learn new fills 😂 👌

Honestly, the drums should sound better when mic‘ed, recorded and mixed in a studio with all that gear available. Your drumming is powerful and spot on as usual and I don’t care if a song is technically easy or not. ;) Great job.

every drummer i watch on here does the same songs...or does the ones i am wanting to upload myself so that just makes me think what is the point it's been done a 100 times already you see plenty of comments off people saying upload this song please which are usually the ones we never see on here. i am going to make these youtubers happy and do some songs they actually want to hear not already heard. he is still a great drummer though i must say.

Guys, the setup is the same. The reason the kit sounds different is because of the way it’s mixed.
