Thanks mate, i just bought them a week ago at Bunnings, rather than read the manual, i prefer to watch your video that give straight away instructions and tips.
Good video my friend. After each use I detach the spark plug wire and brush down the underside of the mower removing all grass as the deck is steel and grass is very acidic and will rust the deck especially where the push bars attach to the deck.Once the underside of the deck is clean spray with WD40 which will protect against rust and stop grass from sticking. Please be careful turning the mower on its side...the fuel side should be up...otherwise oil may flood your carby and air filter.
Thank you, just bought a second hand one but didn’t give me the manual and not knowing much about lawn mowers I couldn’t figure out why it didn’t start when the guy I bought it off started it strait away, I didn’t see the primer button, started lawn mowed and from your video I can see how to look after it.
Thank you so much! this video was an awesome help. Even with the manual, this video explained everything I needed to know more easily. Appreciate this .. thanku 🙏🏾✨
6:18 Like yours, mine has two operator manuals. My manual that describes the mower itself, not the engine, says to stop the engine before adjusting the height, P3.
Thanks for video to help. I wanted to know if when checking oil level, the cap should be screwed into place or just resting. You showed this & now I know to turn oil cap when checking oil level.
When you check your car oil do you push it all the way in or just place it in top (resting) you are only going to get a real level by screwing it all the way in, the other way you will get a false reading
2:30 I saw a glimpse of your manual later, it says that the oil does need to be replaced from time to time unless it has contrary labels. I thought I have to change mine, apparently not. Since my first comment, I have worked out I have a Victa engine, yours is Briggs & Stratton.
You have to replace the oil at a set point (either by time or or hours of use) other wise you void your warranty it is like a car you have to change the oil and if it has a filter you change that to the same as the air and fuel filter oil should be change at least every 12 months but you should check the manual or ask a lawn mower repair they will give you good advice
Hey thanks for information I added power fit 4 stroke sea 30 oil and fuel unleaded91 in victa lawnmower it’s doesn’t start after Any suggestions what’s happening thanks
Thanks mate. Can I ask a question. I've got the same exact mower, and my only problem with it is when I put petrol into the mower the fuel leaks out of the primer button through the small hole 🤷♀️ Can you tell me what seems to be the problem there please thank you
Hello Vanessa. If there is a leak anywhere on your lawn mower I would definitely take it back and replace it. There should be no fuel leak anywhere. It could cause you problems in the future. And you don't want that. The problem is that once you start fixing the lawn mower you may avoid the warranty on the product. Better to take it back if you can.
Hi. I bought this mower 1 month ago. Everything is fine but every cold start ( roughly fortnightly) when I press primer 3x it doesn't start 1st pull. Upto 3 pulls still won't start so I pump the primer extra 1 or 2 more then pull the starter rope and it starts. Does this happen to yours? When the mower is warm and I empty the catcher it starts 1st pull without any dramas. Only cold start takes longer and more priming. Also I find when I push the primer I can only feel air....I can't feel any fuel pumping through? My 15 yr old victa primer, you can feel the fuel pumping.
Hello Woo. No. It doesn't happen to me. I am always OK with pressing the primer 3x. I suspect that the problem is with the primer not sucking enough fuel when pressing. Maybe try to pres the primer harder to suck the oil properly. I wouldn't stress about it too much. It doesn't really matter how many times you press the primer. The main thing is that it starts OK when you get enough fuel in the engine. Hope this helps.
@@yes2chat884 yeah. I'm not too fussed about it. I'll just have to prime 4 or 5 times when cold. Hopefully it gets better once the engine is run in a bit. I'll try pushing the primer harder next time. Thank you.
@@yes2chat884 Hi. I used my mower again today to test the mulch plug. Again it took 5 pulls to start from cold 🙁 I think the primer isn't pumping fuel. I cannot feel any fuel moving when i prime. But when engine is hot it starts so easily effortlessly. So strange. Also when cold, is it normal for the starter cord to be harder to pull? I noticed when I pull from warm engine, the cord is so easy to pull with very little effort. However on cold start I need more power and effort to pull. Is this normal? Maybe I should take it back to Bunnings🤔
If you have any problems with your lawn mower and are not happy you should take it back. Bunnings is good like that. They will replace it for you. If the primer is not pumping the fuel it can be because the fuel system is dirty from dirty petrol. Petrol is not always clean when you put it in the lawn mower and it can block it form running smoothly. Yes. It's always bit harder in the beginning to pull the cord. It's because the engine is cold. That's normal and you shouldn't worry about that. Hope this helps.
I am going to buy a new lawnmower for home use ( ~ 200 m2 of lawn) shoul di buy a petrol or a battery operated one ? By the way your video explanation is very helpful
Hello Rishi. Both are a great option. Battery is good because you don't spend any extra money on petrol and oil. Petrol is good because you can take in anywhere with you and just fill in the petrol and use. The size of your lawn is suitable for both options. It really comes down to your own preference. I prefer petrol because sometimes I may forget to charge the battery and then get stuck waiting for the charge. Cheers and thank you for your feedback.
Hello knightrider1545. Oil you use depends on the temperature conditions at your area. 5W30 is a thinner oil suitable for warmer areas. 10w60 is thicker oil suitable for cooler areas. You can use either of them as long as they are synthetic. There will be miner difference in the performance of your lawn mover like how easy it is to start etc. But nothing major. Nevertheless I would always follow the manufacturer instructions to make sure that your warranty is not compromised. Hope this helps.
I have the same lawn mower. How much oil we need to fill? I bought the 440ml oil. Tried to fill with oil, but couldn't measure using dipstick, even though I wiped it first. Do I have to pour the whole 440ml into the oil fill tube?
Hello Pandidurai. The oil capacity is 0.44l of oil. If you bought 440ml bottle you can put it all in the lawn mover. Hope this helps. Let me know how you go.
Hello Hashmatq. Yes, you can use SAE30. It's suitable for lawn movers. 5W30 is going to perform little bit better in cooler temperatures though. Victa user manual recommends 5W30 oil. Hope this helps. Let me know if having any more questions.
@@yes2chat884 Do you mix 2T oil in your unleaded? Some people do that in their movers hoping for better performance. Not sure what Victa suggests regarding this.
