Dodgers spending money doesn't ruin baseball; owners NOT spending money and pocketing their profits does more damage. Before the current owners picked them up, they were going bankrupt under Frank McCourt. New owners started spending and brought the Dodgers back to life... not just on the field but also financially. Dodgers should be emulated, not demonized.

I completely agree. That's what we are basically trying to say. The dodgers should not be punished for taking advantage of this opportunity. They've prepared by not spending much in 2022. But, the MLB needs to add a salary cap to stop teams from spending a billion dollars because it's not fair to small market teams like the Reds or Marlins. That being said, there also needs to be a salary floor to eliminate cheap owners from ruining baseball.

Please elaborate on the teams that have the resources to spend 1.3 billion on 3-4 players?
Seattle owner is only worth alittle over a billion. Can he afford to go all out like the Dodgers or Yankees? Padres had to take a loan out to cover payroll which was about a third of what LA spent. Can they afford it?

Yeah for some teams their owner is cheap, but for others, it's a matter of not having billions of dollars as pocket change.
