    This was very insightful!! I’ve always been confused by this. I thought I had CCCA for a long time but as you said Androgenic is vertical & now that I think back the loss started vertically and spread just as you described. Plus I know mine is hereditary & when my specialist looked at my follicles, I didn’t have any scarring

    Thank you for your explanation of the two types. I have AA and I have had it some years now but I seem to be having some success with products from Hair by Enitan. I wish I could come and see you.

    Thank you so much for explaining the difference. I suffer with androgenic alopecia. My symptoms symptoms are exactly as you describe. Yes the treatment that works for you becomes a lifestyle and you have to use it forever. My hair is growing back with consistent use. Patience is key as it's not an overnight remedy. I only use natural organic shampoo and conditioner Drink nettle tea, black tea. From South Africa. Thanks so much for your videos

    I have ccca alopecia. It is hard to find treatment. Could ir be that black women are predisposed to auto immune system diseases.? I was recently diagnosed with Shojens syndrome. Which is a auto immune inflammation in the body and joints. I take hydrocloquine and surprise that the actual inflammation in the scalp with the ccca has decreased quite a bit! Maybe black patients by default need to be referred to a rheumatologist or immunologist to be tested and rule out r all autoimmune disorders before treatment of the hair and scalp.

      Oh wow. So sorry about the issue you are facing with your hair and your diagnosis. No, everyone is predisposed to auto-immune diseases. CCCA is not auto-immune. That is more like Alopecia Areata. I agree with your last statement. When people have chronic hair loss, it's always good to rule out the presence of auto-immune disorders

    Just came across your video and I’m disappointed I’m not in your area. I’ve been recently diagnosed with androgenic alopecia (front). I still can’t explain the frontal scalp tenderness I’ve been feeling for a few years now. I no longer tie scarves, headbands or anything that puts pressure. Does anything come to mind (I can follow up with my GP).
    Also, I’ve been considering sisterlocs but concerned it might put more pressure on my already thin and fine hair

    I see you're selling bundles and sets, which is good. But you're not listing the ingredients! At least I'm not seeing any! I have been watching my hair loss for 15 yrs now and no doctor has been able to help me! I have spent thousands on oils, motions, potions and potions! Nothing worked so now, I'm spending by dress on wigs! What is in your products that you think can work for me? Please help if you can!

    • @askthetrichologist
      @askthetrichologist  Год назад +1

      Oh wow. So sorry about that ma'am. What exact kind of Alopecia do you have so we can guide you better in getting the appropriate products. As for the products on our website, all the ingredients are listed. All you need to do is search for the individual products, and you will see the ingredients.

      @@askthetrichologist Hi. Thanks for responding. The Dermatologist said it was traction alopecia caused by my locks because they came down to the back if my knees. But I never believed him. Four years ago I did the big chop down to one inch long, but no one could see my scalp. It grows the length of my hand every winter and I cut it back down every summer. It's so thin on top that for mothers day I wore my first wig! The wig had combs in front and on the sides but my hair is so thin that the wig kept sliding back. The combs had nothing to hold on to! I'm going to try your oat and aloe bundle, especially the gloss bar. Why? Because it may work and regardless, my hair is still growing and striving. It's just super thin on top!

    It spreads to the sides and back. It doesn't stop spreading
