I look back at this video and other videos in 2013, and realize that 2013 was a weak year when it came to the jukebox. They didn’t have that jukebox swag like they usually have. JSU was the clear winner in this battle. SU just didn’t bring it to the table this time.
I'd say the difference between the 2 in this battle is intensity, man it seems as if jsu is imposing their will on su almost, I'm not a diehard fan of either, but respect both

Actually if you look closely at 39:31 you can see an image of the band on an LCD screen on the back of it like you would see on a digital camera... also notice how he points it at each of the dolls as they do their singles around 38:40. but either way does it really matter...
I'm a Juke fan and I admit/agree that it just appeared we weren't prepared or ourselves that day. JSU has a good band but Southern is the better band, and they're arrangements are second to none, just listen. jsu sounds jumbled and unbalanced at times. I respect and appreciate all of our hbcu bands ; keep in mind that these are students putting in a lot of work with a common goal. Great job to both bands.

Food for thought... Most modern day cameras and recording equipment "normalize" sound. Which means that they average out the high's and low's to make the sound more uniform. I bring this up because the camera makes it seem as though the band that is farther away is louder. This is because the recording equipment has adjusted the peaks to be more consistent across the spectrum. Anyone with any real life viewing experience would know that the closer you are to a sound source the louder it seems. It's Physics!! So if when watching a video, and the physics don't add up, it's a normalization issue.

Was there sitting midfield and trust me most of j state sound was coming from the speakers above me, look at up close clips of j state and you will clearly see mics in front of their band and around the 2nd quarter when there were more people in the stands their sound noticeably diminished
