    You're right that one wouldn't think of a 150 as a good woods bike, but thee KTM 150's make more power and torque than the old Honda XR400R, and that thing is legendarily praised (rightfullt so) as THE goated woods/trail bike.

    I think you would find you can go a lot faster on a 150 by riding a gear higher and using the clutch coming out of corners to modulate power delivery . Allows for much less shifting and smoother power delivery.

    Looking to get one of these for general trail riding. I can get leftover 24 right now with huge discounts. Would you recommend it for that purpose? Does it lug as good as the big bikes do or do you need to ring it out?

      @@Jwils4 I was genuinely surprised at how well this bike can be lugged and cruised on. I expected it to be like a high-strung 125 but it was a really good woods bike. Good torque and overall a fun ride 👍

    Great vid Ryan! Light & Playful sounds awesome. Would be good to hear how the mellow map felt , if it produced more usable mid or even low torque, like for gnarly terrain when you want control.... I know its a 150 :) I find the weight benefit overlooked. Thanks!

    • @RyanNitzen
      @RyanNitzen  Год назад +1

      I definitely should've spent more time in the regular map. On the other bikes it really smoothed out the hit from bottom to mid and kept the mid to top super linear, almost four-stroke like. I think the 150 is 15 pounds lighter than the 450, crazy!

      @@RyanNitzenJust letting you know that on only the 150 xcw and 125 sx/xc the green map is actually the rich mellow map. For some odd reason it’s opposite the 250/300 models.

      A 300 is definitely wheres its at. Way way better low end for lugging single track. You can creep on em without flaming out. The power is controllable after you get used to the throttle.

    Do you feel like it revs out really well, with any over-rev? I have the older carb 150 xcw, and I'm keeping my eye on these newer models. Sounds like it revs similar to the previous 150 tpi.... a little flat on top or lacking the over-rev of the carb models. Curious to your thoughts!!

    • @RyanNitzen
      @RyanNitzen  Год назад

      I haven't ridden a 150 TPI so I'll start with that. I think this bike has torquey bottom with strong mid-to-top, but I didn't get too far into the over-rev. Similar character to the 300, just on a smaller scale if that makes sense.
