    Can we know about locks on sliding glass doors that you quickly referred to? I didn’t know there was a way to lock them from the outside. I would love to know how are you can lock a screen on a sliding glass door. Sometimes it is so hot it feels better to sleep with the door open but it’s not secure. Do you have information on that?

    Great video. Couple questions: If I want to lock out a closet what kind of lock do you recommend for that? Second, do you think it is necessary to allow access to the washer and dryer if it is in a closet that could be locked off? I'd like to lock it off but have never had rented my townhouse out before. Thanks.

      We have a "non-smart" keypad handle for supply closets on our inventory list at arrivls.com/inventory
      I would give guest access to laundry

    Our STR is in a remote location with inconsistent wifi. Do the wifi based solutions (thermostat, locks) have an alternate manual option in case of wifi problems?

    Hi, I just recently found your videos and your content is great! I’ve operated a vacation rental for 4 years now using a third party company to manage my calendar and listings, but I’m looking to take over in order to save on their commission and have better control over their pricing, which I feel is leaving a ton of money in the table. I’ve used the Nest products for deadbolt and thermostat and it’s been great, but as I’m in the process of trying to pick a channel manager, I’m wondering if there is a wi-if deadbolt that integrates with a channel manager so that I don’t have to manually program a new door code and check-in/check-out times for each new booking. I’d definitely consider replacing my current equipment if I could eliminate that tedious task. Thanks again for all your thoughtful advice!

    Just found your channel and was thinking about getting into the airbnb business. Not sure if you have a video yet because I’m only on your second video lol but it would be cool to see a breakdown of the prices of one of your units. How much you pay for the mortgage vs how much you charge per day to rent plus all the other bills/costs you have and how much you profit every year. Thanks alot love your content keep it up!

    We are coming up to finalize and meet someone to have photos taken on the property.
    We dont have the smart lock. I’m stressing out. We dont have camera on the porch. I need to figure this out overnight 😩. Which brand of smart lock do you recommend?

    Hey guys, recently found your page.
    I’m new to the Airbnb game but I work in IT. for the property with the projector, it sounded like you had a documented guide on how to connect it. Perhaps you could make a video from inside the property showing them how to connect everything. maybe some people would see that as impersonal and it probably won’t help everyone, but if it helps some it’ll cut down on your time troubleshooting.
    Just a thought! Thanks for your helpful tips.

    My Airbnb uses the garage to gain entrance so I have to constantly change out the pin code for the garage opener manually for each new guest. MyQ doesn’t automate this. How do you handle this situation? Thanks!

    • @kyleeandsteven
      @kyleeandsteven  2 года назад

      Hmm.. is there a side door into the garage where you could install a smart lock? Or what we have done before is put a smart lock on the entry door from the garage into the house. Then change the garage keypad code regularly but not necessarily every time.

    • @jasonellingham3827
      @jasonellingham3827 2 года назад

      @@kyleeandsteven There is a backyard door to the garage as well but guests would have to walk all the way around the house the wrong way to get to it bc of a shed the butts up against the property line. Was just hoping you knew of a smart garage product where you could change the pin code from a phone app. Thanks anyway!

    That's odd that your saying the Roku devices work on any Smart TV. My Rokus are setup only for the TV it came with. Is there a way I can make all the Roku's work with any tv in the house?

    • @kyleeandsteven
      @kyleeandsteven  2 года назад

      Hey Tracy! Not sure I’m fully understanding your question, but the roku capability cannot be shared between multiple TVs. So the TVs at most of our properties either have it built in, or have a Roku stick connected, but it’s not shared. Hope that answers your question!

    • @main2333
      @main2333 Год назад

      @@kyleeandsteven I think Tracy is asking. If you don’t have a TV that includes roku in its system. Or a smart tv without it. I guess she has to buy roku stick to have it work?

    How are you able to shut down a party if you are out-of-state?

    • @kyleeandsteven
      @kyleeandsteven  Год назад +2

      Shut off the fun - Wi-Fi, turn off the hot tub heat from the remote pool controller, etc. with the goal of getting them to check their phone and see our messages.

    • @eastcoastbrushworks6327
      @eastcoastbrushworks6327 Год назад

      @@kyleeandsteven Now in this case, I'm sure you maybe had it happen once or twice. Where you had a guest book for like 2, maybe 5 people and 20 - 50 show up.
      You find out about it, you disable wifi, and other fun features (smart tv apps and such), but the party-goers still remain. Do you have a property manager get involved to chase them? The police for trespassing?
      I'm curious how property owners handle such scenarios.

    Have you encountered issues with ADA compliancy (for disabled), squatters, and/or service animals. I haven't seen anyone post anything about this. I'm new and just starting out so wanted to be prepared. We prefer to be pet-free, but know some states have laws about this.
