Yeah bad! By all means we are out there to enjoy the river but racing passed me within casting distance in a random quiet bay where jet skiers don’t normally go and do that crap isn’t nessacary! Yeah I hear you!
capt it amazes me how jet skies, ski boats and just plain hoons r drawn towards u wen u r fishing a quiet stretch of bank in the river or dam. seems to be their right of passage to always f**k up ur days fishing. cheers.
I think this fish has a specialty.. They have a hardened muth from munching on crawfish most of their life starting from very young, so they evolved this trough time. That´s why they get away so often. Just a theory. Cool vid, peace from Denmark
Cool video mate. That last fish definitely wanted that bait,he swallowed it👍 I thought you had a stutter at first but it was just you editing out the swearing 😂😂. I'll be watching plenty more of your videos.
Gday mate! Definalty keeping calm and being aware of the surface strike and like you mentioned soft hands don’t strike on the sound let it load and then go hard
Don’t let that deter you! It’s a big place but one of the best piece of advise is after doing a couple trips and exploring the lake and if you haven’t found something that has given you a result pick an area and work it hard. Fish it over and over again dedicate a few trips to a single bank or 300m or shoreline and work it out... you’ll find one
Hey mate awesome vid , just wondering if you have ever fished blowering? I’ve fished it all my life never caught a cod myself, I was present when one of the lads got a 117cm monster just before first light last Sunday off the bank, we can spend days trawling/casting and never anything fishing that way, just about to give up on the big green back dogs
You can’t be far of finding a giant yourself! Everyone has to start somewhere all it takes is one bite and it will lead you to the next one and you’ll be surprised what you learn and change to develope your style in the way you go about things. Don’t give up bro your so close!
Bait caster vs spinning reel. what is your opinion? I've been flicking spin all my life and cant for the life of me cast a bait caster.. should I stick with spinning or take the time to learn bait caster? I've just started getting into dam fishing. been fishing rivers
Hi Blake. I personally prefer bait caster. I grew up with spin and it was a lot of practice with a weighted line until how learned how to set my brake and mags. Was it worth it? For me it was as I have stuck with BC’s ever since and have had good success. I would check out some clips on YT for how to adjust your settings and then practice for a bit. It’s easier than you think. The mechanics of it are quite simple really. Learning how to thumb the spool was difficult but after getting it set up right you wont use your thumb unless you overcast. Just my opinion mate. Good luck with it all.
@@fishingwiththecaptain yeah sweet I've started collecting a few millerods and found them awesome to throw. Just curious as to what to get next for this bigger impoundment cod
Another good vid mate. LMFAO at the guy waving back after flipping him the bird as I've had the same thing happen on the Murray here. 😂

Bloody good grind mate. Especially like the flipping off and the rave cave sunnies.
Yeah has me why the dogs come up that hot and don’t eat their food. They didn’t come off from the night before🤷🏼♂️

Great work mate. Story of my life - 20 boofs at Mulwala last week for zero fish, luckily the hardbodies and spinnerbaits held on and managed 5 fish!
I’m just in a tough patch but all good I could possibly sting more with swimbaits and stuff but thats not the goal! Yeah nice!
Such a great vid mate ;) love watching you work those bigger fish out and persist through it all
Legend mate appreciate the support! That’s it 100% there’s a will there’s a way to get it done
Nice one Tommy. What do you advocate for surface strikes, soft hands or strike hard. Also, what model Millers do you use? Thanks. Cheers darky...
Gday mate! Definalty keeping calm and being aware of the surface strike and like you mentioned soft hands don’t strike on the sound let it load and then go hard
Great video mate i just spent 3 day fishing there and not a bump. First time there hoping to learn more about the fish and find some good spots

Awesome video mate, Lovin the content.
Curious if you will do a video on what rods, reels you use for swimbaits, spinners, hard body.

@@fishingwiththecaptain yeah sweet I've started collecting a few millerods and found them awesome to throw. Just curious as to what to get next for this bigger impoundment cod
