@@paintandpearls6960 It depends where you live and your porosity. I have high porosity and live somewhere with high humidity... My silk press never lasts 24 hours. Now if you live out in the desert-like Nevada or Arizona or the Sahara your silk press will last the whole month. Not a drop of moisture.
@@paintandpearls6960 Yea This lady lives in Illinois current humidity 67 %. London humidity where I live 82 % and it didn't even rain today but the clouds are always there!! Ima stick with my kinky coily pixie cuts. Lol! if I want a straight look it is going to be a wig. lol!
Stylists always want to add weave tracks or suggest a perm but it’s nothing wrong with natural hair no matter how short or long. I refuse to perm as well. She did a great job
I always forget about the shine serums/sprays, but I know when I used to go to the salon years ago, BioSilk worked REALLY well for my hair. Loved the video and your results!
Thinking about doing a big chop and going natural so I've been researching styles and hair care videos before I commit. I feel I may miss the sleekness of my relaxed hair when it's gone so I Wanted check out how I can still get a pixie while remaining natural. This video may just have convinced me to go ahead with it. Awesome results 🤩 PS: the lighting wasn't as bad as you thought
I learned a couple of things: 1. Use 2-3 heat protectants instead of just 1. 2. But a blow-dryer to help the straightening process before using a hot comb or fat iron. Thank you, much, love❣️ 😊🤯🤗😘
I learned that all of the stylists that told me that I HAD to get a relaxer to press and curl my hair and it stay looking nice we’re LYING. I’m glad I didn’t fall for their crap. I’m going to press and curl my hair for my second through fourth days of substitute teaching this high school year!!
You look beautiful ❤️ I'm considering a silk press. Just want something different. Mixed it up a little!. I love your short hair and your video!! Best I've seen yet 👍
You convinced me to get a smaller straightener, thank you for linking it! I've never been able to use longer/wider straighteners, idk why, I think I'm scared of burning myself as I've had stylists burn me in the past tryna get my thick roots lol. I was on the fence about getting the 1inch Babyliss or the 1/2, but I just bought the straightener you used! Can't wait to try it, it'll take me longer, but I feel like I'll have much more control.
I’m also thinking of doing this in a October and was wondering if natural and pixie go together. However I’ll heat train my hair in the Winter May to Aug. Then do a protective style in September for travel and the do the big chop pixie in October. Im excited. You look stunning!❤❤❤
Thanks, my cut is a side part, faded on one side and about 3 inches on the top and faded on the back and sides. What I'm trying to achieve is straight with the top curls/waves coming forward. Please list all the products that you used and their cost and where you got them from. Thanks, loved the video for very short hair; mine is soft and fine.
I can’t remember exactly. I believe it was around 400 degrees. I have really thick hair and I barely straighten it. So my hair can with stand the high heat
I want my hair cut really short I'm natural I'm trying to find someone to cut it without me getting a relax perm put in it so now I'm wearing braids so ready to get a nice cut everybody wants to put a perm on it
Maintaining short, straight, natural hair usually requires more maintenance than relaxed hair but it is possible. It all depends on your lifestyle if you’re able to maintain the results.
I cut my hair short myself at the end of 2019 and was really happy with the results! I sectioned it off into plaits like the size of box braids then cut them all to the length I wanted. Then I took out the plaits, wet it so it shrank, and went over it again with my scissors to even it out. Make sure you use sharp scissors though! Unless you want like a skin fade, you can basically do it with hair scissors. My hair is 4c btw :)

You can achieve it! Key to a good silk press is a good clarifying shampoo, a light weight conditioner, light weight styling products with humectant (to prevent swelling), and a good blow dryer and flat iron.
@@royallyslayed don't play. I'll give you a thumbs down if you talk crazy like that again. A person could climb up a ladder and jump into your hair and bounce off it cos it's lush and bouncy. Very healthy head of hair despite the heat
I learned a lot from this video, I have a client with very short natural hair and those little baby hairs are such a bitch and I Really want to try the way you style your bangs on her this was so wonderful! Thank you!
Stylists always say they cannot do this on my hair and that I need a relaxer. I refuse to get my hair relaxed. Thanks for sharing.
I hate that some say this. They should know better cause it’s possible. I think it’s laziness smh
