@Michael Heathman at 5:11 did the instructor assert that it is not Runner's Lane Interference if the throw hits the runner in the back? If the runner is properly in the runner's lane and gets hit with the thrown ball, is it a runner's lane violation?
0:19 “the lines are included in the box”. Yeah and the left line is the foul line which is in fair territory and the base sits on top of it so this guy suggesting that the runner needs to leave “the box” on that last stride isn’t correct. A runner can 100% run the entirety of the last 45 feet within the box and still touch the base.
Michael Heathman what kind of idiotic message is this? My last name is Anber. It is possible to touch first base without exiting the lane. Not sure what your comment was referring to “the box” - as you saw, I used quotations; I was quoting the video. Of course in taking the last step, a certain amount of tolerance is permitted in many circumstances for the person to step cleanly in the middle of the bags. But it is incorrect to say that you necessarily have to exit the lane to touch the bag. I suspect you have never umpired any kind competitive baseball beyond kiddie ball maybe. Your whole message is a disaster.
Michael Heathman You realize that the line that marks the left side of the lane is the same line that is the “foul line”, right? There aren’t two lines. They share one line. Every baseball diamond I’ve ever seen except maybe a sandlot drawn by a drunk high school groundskeeper looks like this. Look at any pro field. The foul line is fair territory; the line of the lane is part of the lane. Fair territory and the lane therefore overlap which is typically about 3-4 inches. What is hard to understand about this?
Michael Heathman I’m only condescending when the person I’m talking to is doubling and tripling down on a nonsensical position. Stay mad. I’m done with you.
thanks for this video, clarified a LOT for me!

The video person chomping on gum takes away from the audio.
What level of ball are you officiating? High school does NOT require a quality throw. Any throw that has a runner in fair territory is interference.
The ORB states it must be a catchable throw. The fielder still needs to make a quality throw
Sorry this is unwatchable. Audio quality so poor. Sorry
Just you
