What I love about this song is that it actually sounds cold. Even If it weren't for the title and music video, you'd still be able to identify it as a song about an ice queen and her frozen kingdom. The heavy bass resonates the desolate and empty feel of the frosty ice land and the delicate sounding chimes that repeat throughout conjures up images of rock solid icicles. Even the way Azealia delivers her bars sounds straight up frosty. All in all, iconic.

If some don't like the video, that's another way to go. As you know, her songs tend to have multiple meanings. I know I've heard opinions about FX being too realistic. I don't have an issue with realistic animation, but sometimes perfection isn't the goal. What about abstract, minimalist 3d animators? Many animators choose different styles knowing full well that they have the ability to make it look realistic. I wouldn't let these comments get you off track. If you feel this video, that's good enough. Let them "see what they want to see" as Azealia puts it. Art can be divisive.

No, I'm serious. The makeup job looks flat and amateur. I would have kept her original skin tone, the white just looks flat, especially with no contouring. Using the same shade of blue everywhere was a poor choice. And those garage door lids are a sin. It could have looked really beautiful. Maybe a frosty silver lid and dark plum lips. With a dewy skin, some shimmery pearlescent highlight swept across the cheekbones for an icy effect. I'm just SAYING, it could have looked really beautiful but instead it looks cheap. Honey.

I have always lived how lyrically descriptive this song is and how everything from the beat to the music video and even the lyrics sounds like and is themed to just winter, ice, snow, blizzards, freezing, and stuff like that. If there's any rap that just sounds like those things to me it's deff this one cause everytime I hear it I just envision a winter ice witch in her castle made of ice crystals in the middle of a blizzard. But even besides the theme the lyrics and beat are great in other ways as well.
