Thank you so much!! My 3 year old got a fire tablet as a birthday gift and it’s overwhelming how much content is included. I wish it was simpler to control the content & I wish there was a way to completely disable offering new content intuitively.
This is exactly the problem I was looking for but this video didn't answer that...I don't use kids plus I wish he put that in the title, seems the videos more about that. Annoying how I have to put in a pin to remove it when my kid can click the icon in recent and download it again?? Faulty system.
My issue is I want to remove RUclips from the kid's tablet *completely*... But after removing ftom device there's no way to rem9ve the thumbnail so my kid can just re-download. To top that off, the tablet has never accepted the download of RUclips Kids so my son has to access that through ordinary youtube, often doesn't work out that way, now loves watching unbelievably idiotic behaviour from Tubers such as Junya etc that makes him hyper af, and can't stop talking about junk food from these weird mukbang videos aimed at kids of people making pigs of themselves. I do monitor but can't constantly so he often finds this crap. Am I seriously going to have to buy a whole new tablet?
@AbbyOliveGrove tbh I got annoyed at mine and just bought samsung on sale for $200. The main reason was the ram tho...the fire has the slowest speed because of the low ram. The Samsung has a 4gb ram and was on sale for $200!! Haa 64gb space plus a micro card slot up to 1tb. These Samsung also have a kids function ;) just like our phones..my kids happier on thst half the time..but I'm gonna customize it for him. I believe if you know electronics you can do this I'm gonna watch some videos and customize it myself. I hate how limiting fire is they expect you to spend more money.
I figured out how to remove from recent: go to parental controls, then click on ‘content’ & then on ‘amazon kids+ subscription content’ & then you have to change the filter to ‘view the entire amazon kids + catalog’. After that you can search for the specific app you want to remove from recent & click it and then click the green check to hide it. My daughter kept downloading a hello kitty nail salon app that she didn’t like & then whining when she couldn’t do it…. So happy to have it solved!

Go to settings, scroll down until you see ‘remove content’, then select ‘remove unwanted Amazon kids+ items’ and you can block the all apps you don’t want. They won’t appear on your kids homepage 🤗
@@evangelinepatterson2050 are you referring to individually clicking every app (that the Tech Baby said is tedious to do)? I wouldn't mind doing this but will I still see the blocked apps in Recent? Or blocking is different from deleting and they will disappear completely? Thanks a lot
@@Plickery1 you’ll not see the app at all once it’s blocked. It sounds extreme but my 2 year old had somehow downloaded farming simulator and was far too complicated for him but even with ‘deleting’ or ‘remove from device’ it was still coming up on his Home Screen. Blocking completely removed it
You have to go to settings from the kids profile. remove content you’ve shared ,then click on games and apps and uncheck it that’s how I got RUclips to stop showing up after I deleted it and it won’t download without permission again . Also kid friendly apps show up so you pretty much have to click each section for the app category your trying to remove and not let them download again .it won’t show up in recent either

I cannot figure out how to create the clean profile you did as a recommended procedure. Mine keep using my kid's subscription despite canceling. Would not let me turn off on existing profile. Please show how you set up the second child without the populated screen and only have apps, and books I add.
Is this just blocking them or *uninstalling* them? Because if I go into manage storage and delete/clear storage, it only works on half of the apps I select. One in particular is 50+ variations of something called MyTown/MyCity. It’s like a damn virus, and if I try to delete them, nothing happens.
Is there a way to pay for “free” games that have ads? My kids keep requesting to download games and the games are fine for them to play, but there are inappropriate ads showing up during play. The kids filter blocks them from clicking the ad, but they are still seeing the ad play.
I've been trying to figure this out for months and haven't found a way. My kid often downloads the same app that requires a subscription to use. She gets frustrated and it's still in recent when I delete it. It isn't an amazon kids app, so I can't block it. And I can't disable Wi-Fi entirely because my child deletes all the apps immediately in that mode. So frustrating. Let me know if you found a way.
Looks like it’s an app that would have been manually added, you you would remove it from a kids profile in the settings app>profile & family library>choose_profile>remove content>remove content you’ve shared Hope that helps. Let me know if you have had any luck

Since making this video, we learned a few things…Amazon added a more mature version of the interface meant for slightly older kids that we find much more manageable which you can change in parental dashboard, they also cleaned up the younger kid version so you should have better control relative to how it used to be, and we hVe played around a lot with the non-subscription interface and do find that much much cleaner (but without all the great content that kids+ comes with). Is def worth trying these things out bc you get a lot with this service if you can figure out how to make it useable for your situation, but understandable if it’s just not working for you. Let us know if you do end up keeping and harnessing the device. Good luck!
We did this by making a separate kids profile without the subscription. Then we added only Netflix and Disney with some pre downloaded content and log into that profile for only those two apps. Hope that makes sense.
That is very strange! First off, I’d check the membership is actually over and has not auto renewed….when I cancelled the subscription in my settings it all disappeared for that profile

In the child’s settings click “set daily goals & time limits” and then slide the bar for videos all the way to the left so it is “blocked”. Hope that helps!

I love that you can control the age content, block certain apps and videos, and free storage space with apps that haven’t been used in a while. This tablet has assisted my son’s learning in so many ways. We love it!
Depends how you removed it. If you deleted a download, you would just click the app again to re-download. If you manually removed/blocked an app in settings, you would need to re-add/unblock from settings.
Are you still on the kids subscription and logged in as the same user? I’m not sure how you would find all the games if they do not automatically come back, but will let you know if we find any info.good luck!
Ours does not have a RUclips app, so how is it being accessed? If it is being accessed from a web browser in a child profile, that should be something you can restrict. If its in a adult profile, that might be more complicated. If you are using a third party app that accesses youtube for its videos, then you could remove that.

What you are experiencing is very strange bc that’s how we did it. Would recommend trying to cancel the subscription from a computer web browser on your Amazon account. Are you still getting charged?

My problem too. So ridiculous that it shows kids these icons of things they don't have and all they have to do is click and it downloads. And the work around is to put it into airplane mode, so they can't stream Netflix or disney+ on it? My daughter's tablet is now a brick because the storage space is so low that the system won't even start up. So I can't start it to delete items. But I need to delete items to start it.
That sounds brutal. Sorry to hear this. I have never experienced this but would try seeing’s if it’s possible to get it on then try and delete some large files/apps. Good luck!

Does anyone have a clue on how to disable the "Apps and Games" icon on the kids homescreen ? I've only found the possibity to disable certain apps from this kind of "appstore". It's very annoying, our child can simply open the kids store and download an app. Of course, non-free apps still require our OK, but for all other apps and games, there is no option to disable these. (Dec 2022, Fire Kids 10 device)

I have the Fire 7 Kids. I do not want my daughter to see the HBOMax, Disney+, or RUclips Kids added for you apps. If you click on the added for you apps, it will download them. Is there anyway to have the suggested app icons removed?

Hi, I would like to know how I can clear my daughter's browsing history on her account on the Amazon Fire tablet. I switch accounts to my account, but when i clear the browsing history from mine, it only clears my history and not my daughters.
How do you get out of a game when there is only a back button? Some games do this where there is no Home Screen button. I’ve tried to pull down the top and it doesn’t come down.
This sounds like a glitch, usually there’s a back and home button when you swipe up from the bottom. This happened to us once and we restarted the tablet which solved it. However we will look and see if there are any solutions out there, and please let us know if you figure anything out so we can share this info. Good luck!
Did the subscription end? I’d try restarting and see if that fixes (eg it’s some sort of basic glitch), but if not any other info you can provide might help use figure it out.
Where is the audio book showing up? In a kids profile? Within a specific app? Recommend removing the app from the adult profile if it’s an app, or deleting the specific audiobook of its within an app eg audible. Provide some more details and we will try to help
I blocked anything coco melon and baby shark related, there’s still a few coco melon and baby shark related things that pop up but eventually those things will get blocked too.
Are we finding that Child Settings > Remove Content > Remove Unwanted Amazon Kids+ Items still works? I only see “1. Remove Content You’ve Shared 2. Remove Websites You’ve Added 3. Remove Videos You’ve Added From the Web” Unfortunately none of these options allow me to remove the pre-downloaded apps Amazon puts on the tablet
We recommend running a full factory reset through the settings on an adult profile. You will loose everything that’s already on there and set up in order to restart fresh and set up how you want
Great videos! Dumb question…we just got the Fire 10 for kids (comes with Kids+ free for a year). What we’re noticing is that nothing is actually ‘free’ (everything has ads, or sample content only). It seems no matter what we download we’re hitting ‘pay walls’. We’ve googled best free apps for kids, and still have the same issue. Am I expecting too much (that free is really free?). We’re about to just return it. Thoughts?
Sounds like something is wrong… On our kids+ profile, the preloaded content is free as far as we have seen. There may be some apps that have in-app purchases or limitations, but we have found full access to all the games we’ve tried even ones that are paid on our other devices. Is this happening within a kids+ profile? Are you experiencing this for apps you’ve added manually?
My kids Transylvania game is frozen I have removed it and download it again but goes to the exact same spot I have restarted the tablet so many times I don’t know what to do? If anybody has the answers I’ll appreciate it.
I set up a kid's profile but I still have "store" app on the screen. Tap and hold only bring up a menu to run the stupid and is easy to buy things I don't want them to buy. It's not listed as in app in the storage. How do I get rid of the app?
Don’t even see that app on ours. If it’s an app you’ve downloaded, try deleting it from the adult account. If it’s a website, you should be able to block it from the adult profile. If you provide some more info about where/how they are accessing, can try and provide some more suggestions…
@@TechBabyYT I have RUclips as blocked websites on the tablet, and I deleted the app from the adult profile, yet it stays on his profile right at the top for him to redownload. And then he figured some work around to get around not signing in as a parent and can still get onto RUclips

I think one of the ways we show blocks and uninstalls them, but it’s very manual and no practical for mass deletions (last we checked)

Ok but how do you remove the option to watch videos. like Ryan and blimpie? that come off the RUclips app or whatever.

Depends how you removed it. If you deleted a download, you would just click the app again to re-download. If you manually removed/blocked an app in settings, you would need to re-add/unblock from settings.
I reset my daughters tablet & she wants all the games back & I have no idea what they were called to find them again & download them

My layout is not the same as yours. I dont understand it. Its set up all the same. I have a search bar at the top and looks abit like the adults theme

Unfortunately not that we know of. But you can remove it later by pressing and holding on that app and selecting remove from downloads.

My daughter's tablet is now a brick because the storage space is so low that the system won't even start up. So I can't start it to delete items. But I need to delete items to start it.
That sounds brutal. Sorry to hear this.
I have never experienced this but would try seeing’s if it’s possible to get it on then try and delete some large files/apps.

@@TechBabyYT I finally gave up today and looked up how to do a factory reset from the bios, daughter was upset to lose the pictures she had taken, but it was the only way to get it operating again.

Does anyone have a clue on how to disable the "Apps and Games" icon on the kids homescreen ?
I've only found the possibity to disable certain apps from this kind of "appstore".
It's very annoying, our child can simply open the kids store and download an app. Of course, non-free apps still require our OK, but for all other apps and games, there is no option to disable these.

We don’t know of any way to do that, although had the same thoughts
Does this apply to removing certain books and things like that? My daughter is 2 and there is so many apps that I do not want on there that are not suitable for toddlers
You can also set the age so that it only shows suitable age appropriate content if you haven’t tried that yet.
So there’s no way to block apps/games
You can block individual apps although it is tedious to do multiple. I do show that in this video.
I have the Fire 7 Kids. I do not want my daughter to see the HBOMax, Disney+, or RUclips Kids added for you apps. If you click on the added for you apps, it will download them. Is there anyway to have the suggested app icons removed?
It’s sounds like it’s not a kids profile bc those apps are not on ours. Can you tell if it’s adult or kids account? Does it looks like the account on this video?
Hi, I would like to know how I can clear my daughter's browsing history on her account on the Amazon Fire tablet. I switch accounts to my account, but when i clear the browsing history from mine, it only clears my history and not my daughters.
How do you get out of a game when there is only a back button? Some games do this where there is no Home Screen button. I’ve tried to pull down the top and it doesn’t come down.
This sounds like a glitch, usually there’s a back and home button when you swipe up from the bottom. This happened to us once and we restarted the tablet which solved it. However we will look and see if there are any solutions out there, and please let us know if you figure anything out so we can share this info.

Where is the audio book showing up? In a kids profile? Within a specific app?
Recommend removing the app from the adult profile if it’s an app, or deleting the specific audiobook of its within an app eg audible. Provide some more details and we will try to help

I blocked anything coco melon and baby shark related, there’s still a few coco melon and baby shark related things that pop up but eventually those things will get blocked too.

I only see “1. Remove Content You’ve Shared 2. Remove Websites You’ve Added 3. Remove Videos You’ve Added From the Web”
Unfortunately none of these options allow me to remove the pre-downloaded apps Amazon puts on the tablet
I think the final suggestion in the video will give you what you want - remove the Kids+ Subscription.
I bought a kids Fire Tablet from a Pawn shop. It has over 50 you tube videos that I would like to delete. It is NOT an app. How do I remove videos???
We recommend running a full factory reset through the settings on an adult profile. You will loose everything that’s already on there and set up in order to restart fresh and set up how you want

Great videos! Dumb question…we just got the Fire 10 for kids (comes with Kids+ free for a year). What we’re noticing is that nothing is actually ‘free’ (everything has ads, or sample content only). It seems no matter what we download we’re hitting ‘pay walls’.
We’ve googled best free apps for kids, and still have the same issue. Am I expecting too much (that free is really free?). We’re about to just return it. Thoughts?
Sounds like something is wrong…
On our kids+ profile, the preloaded content is free as far as we have seen. There may be some apps that have in-app purchases or limitations, but we have found full access to all the games we’ve tried even ones that are paid on our other devices.
Is this happening within a kids+ profile?

It was not successful. I needed to remove apps from recent but they are still showing up on the main screen. The flight mode was helpful though.
The interface can definitely use some development, but hopefully this is helpful for now…

The Uninstall stay gray and nothing deletes
I set up a kid's profile but I still have "store" app on the screen. Tap and hold only bring up a menu to run the stupid and is easy to buy things I don't want them to buy. It's not listed as in app in the storage. How do I get rid of the app?

Don’t even see that app on ours.
If it’s an app you’ve downloaded, try deleting it from the adult account. If it’s a website, you should be able to block it from the adult profile.
If you provide some more info about where/how they are accessing, can try and provide some more suggestions…
@@TechBabyYT I have RUclips as blocked websites on the tablet, and I deleted the app from the adult profile, yet it stays on his profile right at the top for him to redownload. And then he figured some work around to get around not signing in as a parent and can still get onto RUclips
