This episode's Easter Eggs and Callbacks:
    - The nail salon Jimmy works in the back of is the same one Saul tries to get Jesse to buy as a front for money laundering
    - Dented trash can Jimmy kicked at HHM parallels the dented hand dryer Walt punched
    - Jimmy meets the Kettleman's at Loyala's Cafe, which is also Mike's regular diner (he meets Lydia there, amongst others.)
    - The check Jimmy shows the clerk at the courthouse puts his address as Juan Tabo Avenue - Gale's street
    - In Breaking Bad, Saul says that his real name is McGill
    - At the end of Breaking Bad, Jimmy said if he was lucky he would be managing a Cinnabon in Omaha
    - When Jimmy leaves the courthouse, the camera starts on Saul's signature Cadillac before panning over to reveal his shitty car - which, ironically, is a Suzuki Esteem.
Looking forward to doing more of these as we go! Lots of great tie-ins.

Nice BrBa connection list. Maybe I remember this wrong? In BrBa - When Saul admitted his real name being James McGill it was to make a connection with Badger's "Irish Uncle" (Walter wearing the hat and sunglasses) after Badger first got busted.

For me Saul was a slow start weirdly enough, to the point that towards the end of the first season I thought If this doesn't improve I'm going to dump it. But no, I stuck with it. and dear god I'm so pleased that I did. The latest season of this series has been superb and right up there with any of the BB episodes. A real gem of a show with an fantastically talented cast.

I disagree! I feel its a better written show overall. For me it's a more grounded and more drama between persons in situations that could be real

    • @AWEZOME1337

However, I do agree that it's slower, but I don't think it's makes it worse

    • @UncleHyena
      @UncleHyena 3 года назад

@@AWEZOME1337 slower pace of course doesn't necessarily mean it's worse but personally, I feel, BCS meandered for quite some time in season 1. The first 2 episodes were insanely paced, almost Breaking Bad esque, and I think it took a major dip for many. I think BB's first season was better than BCS's first season and that was key for many shaping their opinions (important to note BB's first season was also slow paced). That being said, season 2 of BCS was incredible and on-ward it's just gotten better and better. I think BCS = BB right now but, I can surely change my mind soon

As a resident of the Albuquerque metro area I can say we actually do get snow, but yes definitely not quite as much really especially compared to northern New Mexico, but the snow was a nice detail to how it isn’t Albuquerque since you never see snow in Heisenbergland at all.

The cinnabon thing is a really fun easter egg. In Breaking Bad, when Saul has decided to start fleeing he says something in the lines of (and I''m probably paraphrasing) "If I'm lucky I'll end up managing a cinnabon." I think it's cool how they took a runaway line and turned it into foreshadowing.

I always liked how they filmed the future scenes in black and white while the past was in color. It's the complete opposite of what you would expect and it throws you off at first, but it's a really nice touch to show the contrast between his exciting past life as Jimmy/Saul and his lonesome, quiet life as Gene.

What's truly amazing is that this show builds up all the world where Breaking Bad takes place, you'll get to see a lot of key characters and elements and how they end up where they are at the moment Walter starts his adventure.
What's even more amazing is how it connects.
As an exemple, the time when Saul is taken by Walt and Jesse to the desert to have him work for them, he mention Ignacio and Lalo and says he'll have the money back.
You don't pay attention the first time because these are not related to Walt or Jesse in any way...but they really are part of a whole arch in "Better Call Saul".
