  • The deltoid is the shoulder muscle on your upper arm. Learn about its three heads and how to draw it in this anatomy lesson! Extended lesson at proko.com/anatomy.
The deltoid is a three-headed muscle, with fibers coming from the clavicle, acromion, and scapula and going to the humerus. I’ll explain the anatomy behind this complicated muscle as well as how to draw and invent it from your imagination. The more complicated your subject matter is, the more important it is to focus on simple structure and perspective. This drawing tutorial will help with your human anatomy and figure drawing. The deltoid muscle is even visible on most portrait drawings and paintings! Learn all about it for free, right here.

this is one of the best lessons yet. So much polish at each stage, such clarity in the drawings and the explanation, using the 3d to show clarifying views and motions and showing multiple angles for 3d understanding, amazing work! thank you so much!

Amazing video Proko! So far in my early art career, I've learned so much in such a short time thanks to your videos, especially anatomy! you're a great teacher. I know anatomy is your specialty, but would you ever consider doing a video on the nature of machinery and mechanics? Id love to see videos on the geometry of armor as well.

To get the most out of the Anatomy Course you may want to check out the Figure Course first here: www.proko.com/library/
After you watch that you'll be ready to start the Anatomy Course. These videos are really effective at helping people become much better artists because they are formatted like fun art school lessons that, once you watch and do the assignments in order, you'll have a much greater understanding for the figure and how to draw it.
