Some insightful recommendations here, especially on belts and fuel levels. 👍 My V70 D5 AWD on Pirelli Scorpion winter tyres (as recommended by Volvo), once got me further in deep snow than a shepherd could in his Defender before I got stuck. The shepherd was amazed how far I got! He helped me get unstuck with his shovel, so I bought one with a folding handle the very next day. So I'd say add a shovel to your list if you live in a remote area.

Im running a 2011 XC60 2.4 d5 diesel. Just had full service at an independant Volvo workshop. I mentioned for them to check/change antifreeze. The guy said its ok its long life antifreeze! I'm not overly convinced!

Cross Climate 2 are great tyres and they perform really well even with reduced tread. (Not suggesting illegal tread)

As tempting as it can be. Don't lift your wipers if it is freezing out. They'll arch and freeze so when you go to lay them down that can crack, break or even rip them!

Not fair! I've just had to SORN my 1994 850 estate. It went in for MOT but they couldn't get it started. It has become difficult to start and I'm fed up trying to takle it in the current foul weather. I'll start again in Spring.
Bit annoying though as it's one of my main "winter" cars as it's got Goodyear 4Season tyres on and a set of TS860 full winter tyres if it gets worse.

I’d be interested in your additional preparations for the trip to the artic circle?

Just a separate aside to the great video - my video editing tip. It seems you've shot the footage in log (S-log, V-log or something) but it's awaiting colour correction - I.e the contrast and colour hasn't been extracted out of the log image yet. I recommend finding the manufacturer corrective LUTs and popping that on. Super easy and even without further refinement would be suitable for RUclips.
Log is definitely best for lovely dynamic range just a bit of an ache in the early days - it took me donkeys to get it right 😂

Yes it was to do with the codec I rendered the video in being 8 but instead of 10 bit 😂 I recently switched to iPhone but still had my Final Cut Pro setup for my Samsung footage! Have sorted it now and hopefully future videos will be better 😁

Did you say in one of your videos once upon a time that you inflated your Cross Climate tyres slightly above what Volvo recommend to aid with wear? If so, can you elaborate with the pressures you use.

Volvo recommends 33psi I run my summers at 38psi winters I stick to 33psi

Yes, it due to the fact that P3s like to lean in on their suspension as they age. The inside of your tyres will wear long before the centre or outer edge, I’ve found that inflating to at least 38 psi evens the wear out a little by pushing the centre of the tyre outwards :)
