Lord Spencer is really bringing history to life. I’ve delved into Eleanor of Aquitaine, but didn’t know much about the previous generation, except what I read in Pillars of the Earth. Just ordered the book and looking forward to reading it!
Hi Norine, I'm in a similar situation to you. I know about the White Ship story from Pillars of the Earth but litte of the immediate history. Odd that this story - being so consequential - has gone out of focus. I'll be reading The White Ship over Christmas too - hope you enjoy it!

Very interesting program, despite the occasional Wokeness being shoe-horned in. I've been into the Middle Ages for many years now, but I'm just now starting to have a particular fascination with medieval ships and ship building.
