    Good ride!! Good video! Some pretty “exciting” moments descending. I’m a bit old for that sort of excitement now. Really enjoyed it.

    Well done Ishan. Day 2, splendid! My heart stopped at times. Please be careful overtaking. Fix a siren. 'Not cool' , wrong. Very cool. Flat tire, no problems, part of the package. Tomorrow's another Day. Keep pedalling. Steady n ever confident. All the way with you n companion.👌👍🤗👏🙏

      I am an amateur rider and I am confused, technically in cars we should overtake from the right, but for a bike even for descent we should overtake from the left side itself na?

    • @BombayBoywhoPedals
      @BombayBoywhoPedals  3 года назад

      @@visiblysane to be safe, never overtake any vehicle at high speeds, always stick to the left side of the road. i was lucky, and luck always runs out.

    Hey, nicely prepared videos. I saw a couple of your other videos as well. Nice and neat. I have not climbed Bhor Ghat. I have climbed Matheran though, back in 2010. The road up the climb was not great. The gradient was killer, I think average 10%. Not keen on going back there. :D

    Thanks for this. Still stuck in KSA. Last climbed this in 1989. Did it regularly in 1985/6/7/8/9. Waiting for flights to resume. I’m so jealous. Only flat here where I live.

    Are flats more common on roadbikes as compared to mtbs or hybrids? I never see mtb or hybrids riders carry spare tubes and pumps like roadies do.

    • @nawaal4452
      @nawaal4452 3 года назад +2

      Well, I think I can answer your question to an extent since I have a Roadie, MTB and a foldie.
      MTB Tyre treads + Higher TPI rubber compounds usually result in less punctures (Speciallyt when riding on tarmac and gravel, and not on rough trails). It takes something super sharp to puncture those bombproof tyres. I get maybe 1 flat in a year on my MTB if unlucky. That's why I usually never carry a spare tube and pump when riding the hardtail. Most tyres I have used on MTB's (Including Indian brands such as Ralson) are thick and tough enough to sustain cuts from rocks.
      The Roadie and the foldie have 32c width tyres which are slick / have almost no treads. The tyres are lighter and faster rolling, thereby compromising on puncture resistance. They are just easy to pierce through. So even a thorn can ruin your day. It's simply the nature of the rubber compound, it is less thick to save weight and roll faster. Also, wayyy more pinch flats on roadies since the contact area is smaller compared to MTB's. So pinch flats are just more frequent!
      You can definitely get puncture resistant tyres like Schwalbe's Marathon on the roadie and call it a day. That's what most people on touring bikes do. Hope this helps
