My theory about the Strogg is that they were once a race perhaps similar to humans, but they evolved much faster and earlier than humans both industrially and technologically, that at some point they began to experiment with using technology to increase their lifespans, possibly as a way to survive or avoid some kind of crisis their race was facing. But they did that so much that by the time of Earth's Invasion and Operation Alien Overlord, there wasn't a single trace of their original forms just monsters created by merging flesh and steel. Making the original Stroggs possibly ghosts or even gods trapped inside machines.
I like the idea that they were the humans from the invasion of stroggos that got stuck there and finally created the slip space tech to get back to earth but by that point they had turned themselves into strogg just to survive like a perpetual loop thing
This is the perfect quake 2 an quake 4 documentary ever. Thank you so much for this. Watching this on a big screen is AAA quality and editing. Never stop what your doing. I hope one day you do the Half-Life storyline.

I am so glad you touched Quake 4, wich is an often forgot gem of the early 2000-s. A chilling game with an awesome gameplay, and sci-fi horror elements. I am so glad to see this work. Thank you! It is indeed a shame, that we will probably never know, what kind of orders Kane got in the end.

Watching this as a whole, I came to realize an oddity in the Quake 4 story... Why was Anderson with Rhino Squad at the medical facility? He was left behind for the tetranode mission, and they said they were on the way to the extraction point when they went through. Did they just drop Anderson with the squad but not extract anyone for some reason? Come to think of it, this could explain why Voss doesn't question Anderson being missing when you find him in the medical facility again, if Anderson's addition there was a later addition. And once again, adding the monologues from Kane improves the narrative 200% at least. Good work.
My guess was that this was another mission separate from the Tetranode. We don't really know how long Kane was held before being put through the Stroggification process. It could have been hours, even days maybe? The Rhino would have time to return to the Hannibal and tasked with another mission where Anderson went with them.
the intro was clearly taken from the Kendathu invasion in starship troopers. those giant plasma beetles were clearly the inspiration for the strogg air-defense guns.
I just discovered your channel cover quake 1 and doom 3 videos, and now just discovered you did a quake 4 which was one of my first own quake games growing up. Really appreciate the level of narrative documentary detail you put into this.
Great work! I am not even sure what genre you have created here. Its a narrated retelling of the known Q4 lore that utilizes elements of machinima to aid in telling the story, I guess ultimately it falls under documentary on fictional-lore but it doesn't feel quite right given you are creating some of the scenes and voice acting lines in order to tell said lore.

All seriousness, the amount in this video is unbelievable - the effort and stitching of all the available information and animations even just the Ai usage is mad. This quality of explaination and dedication to the game is really under appreicated. Even stuff I usually dont like such as the voice interactions of mathew kane and the exchanges.. I'm usually like 'wow thats too much' but you managed to make it so natural.. I really look forward to other projects and if Quake 4 ever gets a sequal.. you best believe I'll be waiting here
