Thank you so much for this video and your other diy wrap video. I haven't sewn since I was in high-school, but your videos were so easy to follow I was able to sew BOTH of these wraps in just 1 weekend including uniquely tie dying them. I can't wait for the baby to come so it can roll around town in my one of a kind baby wrap!
Just finished sewing this!! Thank you so much. I’m grateful for your content. Everything was super easy to follow. The video and blog post as well 👌 I just started sewing and this was a breeze 🌼🌞
I saw your mei tai in one of your other videos and originally thought it seemed way to complicated and better to buy one, but after watching your tutorial it is explained so well! Thanks for the tutorial!
I made one of these sorta 5 years ago with my first when I couldn’t afford a wrap or carrier. I still use it and I love that I can carry my 5 year old and my newborn with the same carrier!
The old four poster bed is beautiful and perfect for the beautifully restored master bedroom. I am looking for an old maple canopy four poster bed, oh and I still need the beautiful old house too!💙
Lisa I just love watching your videos. Even tho I wont be having babies as mine are all your age I still enjoy watching any video you post. Doesnt matter what its about. So keep them coming. And another thing it's almost like you are pregnant for 15 months or more with a baby on the front of you all those months. It's just so cute watching you with Daniel in tow.
Hey! I really love your videos and it's so great that you promote natural motherhood und babywearing! I'm also cloth diapering and I love baby wearing. Actually I'm a baby wearing consultant, that's why I'm a bit sad that your Mei Tai (or Meh Dai) is not the ultimate best choice for ergonomic baby wearing. The baby should be supported from knee to knee, but the lower leg should be able to hang down freely. It's that the hips can develop the right way. English is not my mother tongue, so maybe you could read a little bit more about ergonomic baby wearing before sharing it.. There are also great instructions for those more ergonomic kind of carriers...
You cannot see the babies legs in this video, but they are in an M shape, just inside the fabric. When the baby gets bigger, they will be able to have an M shape with the dangling legs.
@@MrsAngloOrtho You're right! In Germany we just let the lower leg hang down freely right from birth, so that there is no pressure on the knees and hips.
@@Ellibetta1 yes! You can do this but only if the carrier is narrow enough for newborn legs to dangle. This one is sort of "one size" so she would need to use a cord or ribbon to narrow the seat for the baby.
I absolutely love your content as you’re one of my favorite RUclipsrs however I have to say that this particular tutorial wasn’t very easy to follow like your older videos. I know you have so much going on with life but I think it’s much easier to follow your voice overs when you’re doing the full projects. Also I know you don’t want to do a lot of cooking content until your kitchen is finished but I would love to see some more recipes lol I don’t care about the kitchen looks lol i just want the good food. Much love from NC.
I love this!!! My moby wrap always hurts my shoulders and back!!! ( maybe I’m not wearing it right?) I’m such a baby holder and it’s definitely worth trying more then one wrap!!!
This was confusing to follow. Yes, I could go to your tutorial but I like getting all my info here. I agree with sandra hartmann ... more recipes please. No one cares if the kitchen is perfect. It's about the food. And, we just like hangin' out in the kitchen with you. blessings~
I use a mei tai with my 11 month old. Love it! This looks great. My only complaint about these is accidentally dipping the back tie in a public toilet 😷😳
Any ideas on a buckle carrier? Those are my favorite for outings. Hubby and I can trade off easier. I'm sure it's not HARD. It's weighing if $160+ is worth it when I can't find a brand with all the features I want. Also, is it just me or is it incredibly difficult to find one that doesn't have a hideous pattern on it...?
@@katpihlaja Outward carrying has nothing but negatives. Physically, it puts baby's spine and hips out of natural alignment. Possibly leading to hip dysplasia. There are some good brands that are hip dysplasia association certified and approved. Sadly, the most popular ones are not. You can't get a good "seat" like when you inward wear. Seat basically means the pressure is evenly distributed. Whereas outward facing puts all the pressure on the crotch area. Even if joint problems don't occur, circulation problems are most common. Poor baby's feet turn purple. Mentally, it overstimulates baby. This one is more dependent on age, but young babies need to experience the world in a smaller scope than adults. I've never seen an outward facing baby that doesn't look completely overwhelmed and uncomfortable. For these reasons, I think it's irresponsible for a company to advertise outward wearing as a viable option and don't support it with my money. I hope that all made sense.
A lot of women work away from home. So, no schedule for 6 months won’t work for them. Would you consider making a video about what you would recommend for working mothers? I know there are videos from working moms, but I would like your opinion. Thanks!
This looks gorgeous! I looked at your blog, but couldn’t find the post for this. How many yards of Osnaburg did you use here? I am wanting to make a meh dai to have waistless tie options while preggo with number three. My youngest wants more snuggles, but my buckle carrier waist is hurting now.
Hey there!! Love your videos and love Babywearing! I love how you've worn many of your little ones especially in your videos, life doesn't stop when a baby comes! I thought you might find it important, the most culturally sensitive term is actually Meh Dai, not Tai. Keep up the good work!
@@cynthiafisher9907 if I'm not mistaken, the spelling of the word "Meh Dai" is phonetic for the Cantonese word. By calling a Meh Tai you actually say something different and in a language where the difference between an "eh" and an "uh" can mean totally different words it's important to be careful. I have a Meh Dai myself and absolutely love it!!!
did you say you were doing a video reviewing a bunch of different types of wraps? i remember seeing something like that on your ig stories but maybe i’m confused😅
How do you get your uterus and stomach to shrink back down? I have only 1 kid and almost 2 yrs later, I STILL struggle with this. You look beautiful! I absolutely love your channel and all that you've taught me 😊
I have another baby on the way and would like to do more baby wearing this time around. Thanks for vid✨ Also, came across a recipe for sourdough donuts on The Elliot Homestead channel and thought of you. It's one of their more recent videos if you go looking. Take care🌟
Please don't use this tutorial to make a meh dai (not mei tai as she pronounces it). This is an extremely unsafe pattern as there is only a 1/4 inch seam allowance where the straps attach to the carrier. Baby carriers need to have a generous seam allowance in the straps and then have reinforced stitching further down on the carrier to secure the strap (sometimes called x-boxes). My favorite baby carrier patterns are by SewToot, and they are very safe, and have easy to follow instructions. Also, she is not following the best practices for ergonomic carrying. That baby should be legs out with the weight on his bottom and legs, not his feet. There are tricks to making a meh dai fit a newborn, such as rolling and cinching the bottom of the panel to go between their legs.

How big is the baby you’re wearing in the Moby? There’s a lot of possible troubleshooting that could help. 🙂

Hi Lisa. I love your content. I was wondering which carrier you usually use once your kids outgrow your boba wrap?
So so cute!! Do you tie these on the same way as the moby wrap?
It is a different way. I have video for that coming soon!
What measurements do you recommend if you're a plus size mom?
Do you make and sale these? If totally buy one from you
