Jihyo herself has said that she’s a slow learner (I believe it was in a TWICE: STL episode) But I think that it clearly shows in her dancing. Not in a negative manner. She takes the time to learn exactly what’s going to look the best when she dances, and has clearly thought out which parts of the dance should be slower, more intense, etc. It looks to me like she isn’t just learning the moves when she’s taught them, but the isolations, the level of power, and the expressions. You can tell that she really put her hard work into this performance as well as many many others.
I also remembered her saying that in an interview, (I think it was a radio show) they were asked who had a hard time learning the choreo and she and JY raised their hands but also she said that what's important is how well you perform it on stage. And I completely agree with her.

Yes it is said that she is one of the slowest twice member when it comes to memorizing choreographies but I still think that she can slay that main dancer position.

It can't be called overdancing if the steps she make is very clean and precise. She just gives her all in every performance. That's what a powerhouse dancer does. Overdancing is when a dancer dances rashly and exagerrated where she messes up the right way of doing the step and makes it look like overpowering the other dancers.

그저 이쁘게 웃어서이기도 하겠지만, 매번 무대에 설 때마다 어떤 마음가짐으로 서는지 왠지 알거 같음. 진심이 느껴진다고 해야하나.
대충하는거 진짜 본적이 없는거 같은데 저 작은 체구에서 뿜어져 나오는 큰 아우라가 있는듯.

Jihyo is born to be a performer. Her screen presence is insane. She is so charismatic. Jihyo catches my attention the most even though she got less screen time. She gives her 200% in each performance regardless of the focus is on her or not. Even with fewer lines, less screen time, dancing on the edge during the dance break, maximum transitions yet Jihyo still shines the brightest. Jihyo dances with so much passion and her expressions are just so on point. She is called God Jihyo for a reason. Perfect is all way.

I honestly prefer Jihyo’s dancing over Momo’s.... I always prefer someone who is more expressive and powerful over clean and tight. Momo is definitely a great dancer in terms of following a choreo to the T but I like when someone takes choreo and expresses how they feel through the dance in their own way. I am a dancer myself and Jihyo is definitely someone I look up to skill wise over Momo. Both great dancers tho!

Me too! I mean there is no doubt Momo is a great dancer and she truly deserved her main dancer position. But I also prefer Jihyo's dancing more. Idk but there is something on how she executes the choreo..like her hips, head, hand movements? Its different. Her energy level is the same as Momo's but the most amazing part is her facial expressions are always on point. Her eyes can tell you what the song is about.
Momo has great techninque, great control, and infact she is one of the best dancers in KPOP that's why she became Main Dancer.
NO SANA, NO LIFE of course she’s has great technique, but for me I tend to go for people who has great projection and performance. I'm not downgrading the other member of Twice but Jihyo is in ANOTHER LEVEL. Her charisma, the way she moves, her facial expression, it's all ON POINT. I'm not a once so I don't know much about them but to catch my eyes the first time I saw her perform 'more and more' , she leaves me a lot of good impressions. The other members are good too but I just can't seem to catch their charisma. I always thought that Twice's charisma is always from the group. When they're together, they alwasy create a fantastic aura. Individually, they don't really impact me that much. But what I didn't know is there is a hidden diamond among them and that is Jihyo. 타팬인데 지효씨 팬 될듯 같이 추는데도 지효씨가 눈에 뛰어서 직캠까지 오게됐네요 모모 라는 멤버가 춤 잘준다는 얘기는 들었었고 솔직히 다른 멤버 어떤지 모르는데 지효씨가 유독 눈에 뛰더라구요 잘 추시고 표정도 풍부 하시고 또 되게 되게 열심히 하시고 지난거 까지 챙겨 보게 될거 같아요 암튼 짱👍👍👍👏👏
뭔가 억지로 보여주기 위해서 열심히 추는게 아니라 진짜 즐기면서 열심히 하는게 보임

Lee Ming Ko although I love Jihyo and really appreciate her efforts, I don’t think she should be considered as a main dancer. Lead dancer fits more but not main dancer. Reason being she tends to overdance and executes EVERY move with a lot of power even when it’s not needed. She’s really energetic but she puts too much energy in that she always run out of breath and seems very tired when she’s waiting in her positions. She doesn’t execute her moves smoothly and it sometimes seem sloppy. I’m not hating on her. I’m just saying she’s not that good of a dancer to be considered a main dancer with Momo and Mina.

Mina397 finally someone said it. I’M A JIHYO STAN but (i’m sorry to offend y’all) she’s only a lead dancer material. her dancing is too powerful, even those movements which supposedly have less power, she still overdo it. she’s one of the slowest member to learn a choreo in their group. but amazingly, her facial expressions are versatile.

지효 진짜 매 무대가 레전드긴 하지만 이번 무대 진짜 레전드임 그리고 항상 느끼는 건데 지효는 단체캠보다 개인 직캠에서 진가가 더 드러나는듯.. 진짜 너무 시원시원하게 무대하는게 갠직캠에서 다 보여... 아 진짜 뭐라 형용할 수 없는데 진짜 그게 있음 아 암튼 진짜 그게 있어 매 무대마다 뭔가 벅차.. 진심 춤 열심히 심지어 잘 추고 거의 매초마다 표정바뀌는데 표정도 너무 찰떡으로 잘 바꿔버려ㅠㅠ 그리고 그게 갠직캠에선 진짜 너무너무너무 잘보여서 맨날 볼때마다 무대 너무 잘하는 것 같음

Y’all are mixing up opinions and facts. Mina is literally a main dancer as shown in the official positions and I believe Jihyo is an OUTSTANDING DANCER but Mina had experience in ballet. Momo has had experience in so many different types of dance styles and she is special. Jihyo is the third best dancer and could be the main dancer and the main vocalist in 100000 other groups but Twice is so talented that she is third.
Over-dancing? Pfft. She just wants to give the absolute best that she can give to Once.
Honestly, the best performance deserves the best support.
