eric shun She’s one of the few contemporary female artists that instead of undergoing surgery to look younger, after hitting “The Wall” once she got to her early-mid 30s, decided to simply age like a “fine wine”. 10 years ago she was very cute, now she’s got an endearing beauty to her.
She sings beautifully (obviously), but her writing stands out more for me in this song, the lyrics are truly beyond description...she makes love sound so easy, when in fact most people can't communicate at a personal level (we mistake words to mean more than they do, when in fact the action is a lot harder to do)
I almost did. the only reason I didn't is because the lyrical beauty would've been lost on both my husband and the guests. I really wanted to use it though!
When comparing the English to the Japanese, I find the Japanese to be more triumphant than the English, as if two love birds finally professed their love and made the next step. The English, on the other hand, has a more bittersweet fell. Both have their merits.

Hikaru Utada is Japan's once and future Queen. The ultimate diva of the stage. She is one of the very few singers and musicians with real talent in this word -- to actually get a shot. The most talented singers range wise are usually opera and classic singers. They have fallen out of the mainstream lately, but HIkaru is one of the few that can sing that style and also do pop. Her range in scale is matched by her range in genres. I've seen her properly execute Rock and roll singing, Pop, R&B, Classical, and Opera with Harps and violins. She is fascinating. I've never seen another Artist do so many different styles of music well. The fact she is focusing more on classical singing now makes her the #1 candidate for opening the Tokyo olympics for sure.
I dont know why, but literally everything about her screams beauty and grace in this performance and all her songs. It's beyond a superficial and objective beauty, more than just a surface level, but you can really feel that her soul is also ethereally beautiful. It's like a moment that goes on for a lifetime, the swaying of a vibrant cherry blossom tree as springtime enters its zenith, or the sun rising over the horizon after a particularly stormy night. Its a terrifying beauty, because you never want it to end...

I can honestly say she is not sexy or hot.... she is just damn BBEAUtiful.... her vocals and her looks. Love her. I think, no, I know if you were to put her up against any other female vocalists, she would out sing them like they were nothing... her vocals would overpower the other's vocals.
she is very pretty but she isn't all that great as a vocalist, she relies on her head voice too much, and her head voice is unfortunately quite strained.
I would give all of myself to this woman. One of my idols for years now. That voice is angelic. (No simp) Just actually appreciation. I've always loved utada. Ever since kingdom hearts
Pretty sure I’m the ONLY one here that played ALL KH games mostly to obtain the Ultima Weapon Keyblade on Critical Mode & defeat the secret bosses with said Keyblade & difficulty! oh & Utada is LEGEND.
I want to walk down the aisle to this song ❤️ I thought I found the person who I'd walk down the aisle for, but it didn't work out. I'll find them one day ❤️
I wish the english version had lyrics more similar to this. It's so different it's like a different song entirely. Here you can actually picture Sora and Kairi sitting together sharing Paopu fruit. I mean even the name "Chikai" ties in so much better referencing the oaths they took and the oath keeper keyblade
That was exactly my thought. One song says something different to the other like being different sides of a coin, I still think if you can relate them well, we can tell a story with both.
No, absolutely not. The english version is great as it is, both versions tell a story, and if you really played the games and listened to the songs, you'd realise the english version is more accurate to KH as a journey. Kingdom of thieves, the many references to dreams, and clear message of not giving up, and going for it. Whereas the japanese version is even more focused on romantic love than the English version. The japanese lyrics might sound better to some people, but that doesn't mean it suits the thematic aspects of KH series that well.
Did anyone notice that in "Kiss me once" part the lyrics in the backgroud are in english? At first I tought it was in japanese, but then I notice that it was "If you wanna take to an even higher level" part of Don't Think Twice. :)
I heard the english version and its ok but this version is just amazing. The lyrics are just beautiful I hope I get to see her live someday and she's gorgeous.
My girl Utada divorced twice and still thought to make a badass song about love. I LOVE HER. LIKE SHE DIDNT HAVE TO GO HARD BUT HERE SHE IS
"This is not a promise but an oath." Ok that's too romantic.
my favorite line.
Chikai and Passion's lyrics are much deeper in the Japanese versions than the English ones.
She deserves to perform at the Tokyo Olympics !!!!!! This is so beautiful.
KawaiiJuku yeahhh good Idea!
