I'm setting off on my adventures and travels in two months, and can I just say, I hope that the cosmic universe, that controls all time and space, decides to cross both of our paths together in some exotic country somewhere, so that we can meet and become friends. That would be cool. You never know.
I took that same underwater camera with me on a marine ecology course. It came with me for 2 weeks in the Bahamas and spent probably 5 hours underwater a day. It stopped opening for me a few days before the trip was over, I had to force it open with a dive knife and wrap a rubber band around it to keep the flap down over the charge port. I rinsed it after every dive, but I guess after such prolonged exposure to salt water it just tapped out. I still have it, but consider it dead since the closure is busted and the screen has turned 'milky'.
Oh man, I hear you on the wi-fi! The slowest for me were some places in Indonesia, where it would take 8 hours to upload a 1-minute HD video. The trick I find is to make sure I have wi-fi at my hotel or hostel, and then leave my computer going overnight while I sleep, with videos uploading. Maybe you would have to disable the sleep mode on your computer though? Mine doesn't do that anyway just because it's old and crappy, but in that case it's a good thing. Another option is to convert your videos to make the file size smaller, probably you already know about that but just in case. I use one called Format Factory. It does reduce the quality so I prefer not to do it, but it's better than not posting anything at least! Anyway I just subscribed to your channel, I'm now stuck working so it's nice to follow other's adventures in the meantime.
I am now in Tasmania and I just discover your channel !! I love it, thanks for all your advice, you have so much energy and you're a great inspiration. I will be traveling for a year and I'll try to see your videos :D Cheers
I am traveling in Tasmania for 4months, and after that in australia, a stop to newzealand, and south asia for 5 months after that :) I love that, I just started my trip and I enjoy every moments :)
You're the cutest! I absolutely enjoyed this review. It's so funny and cute.. I forgot why I was watching it! LOL Thank you so much! This brought me happiness! Subscribed!
Thanks for the vid and insight on how stuff changes over time. I have a question about the shop you mention a few times. Can't quite make it out but it sounds like op-shop? Also, have you met any motorcycle travellers in NZ that might be doing youtube vids too?
Those big Chelsea boots: if you could go back and choose a different pair of boots or shoes that served the same purpose (look good, fit in your backpack, but are also comfortable and durable) what would you pick? I'm struggling!
Don't worry about the vids. We know how it goes. How is your actual backpack holding up? Needed to repair it or anything? I've got less than a year until I hit the road and considering a Karrimor pack. Thanks.
Emily Dragneel At the moment I pick up work wherever I can to fund my travels and save save save. Plus I have my channel and website which also brings some extra cash :)
Hi! Do you mainly pick up work in the country you are a citizen of? (Australia?)... Or, have you been able to find work in other countries as you travel? I've been told it will be very hard to do this even with the experience I have because whatever I find would have to be under the table and people don't often do that. Appreciate your videos!
I watched the whole thing and all the way through I've just been sat here thinking 'what on earth is that accent?'?! Are you British? Ozzie? South African? European with great English?
If you have a macbook AIR, you don't really need to cart a Kindle around. Get the free Kindle app from Amazon link it to your account and download the books that you have purchased on to the app on the Macbook.
thats not too practical though to pull out in cramped or unsafe spaces like on a packed train or something plus youd need to put it down on something and there isnt always space, a kindle is much more convenient and efficient and practical and like the kindle paperwhite can be dropped and not sustain any damage, much better for a backpacker than an expensive mac :)
Hi, great video! I have two questions, what is the Liters size on your backpack? And I'm thinking about backpacking southeast Asia next year for 4 months, do you think a 40 L bag will be enough? (I will bring the ordinary like laptop, camera, cloths etc..)
I have a question about cleaning your laundry while backpacking in Australia. Do hostels offer coin operated or free washing machines? Any advice you can give on this?
What did you still have in your bag besides clothes? I mean, you must have had a luggage weight, first aid kit or something like that still? How about the sewing kit?(:
Ina Jessen Yes Ina, I realised after I uploaded that I missed a pocket which had my luggage scale and first aid kit and all that good stuff! #BadVlogger =]
USA vs. CANADA and you got the CANADIAN JERSEY?! HOW DARE YOU! Just kidding, we rebelled, they deserve your love. PS: You've inspired me to travel, thank you!
So sorry for the comment. You talk a lot but show less videos. Why not put more videos and less talk. Have you visited Samar (Calbiga Caves, Marabut underground rivers, a hundred more. Visit Leyte,Kalanggaman Island in Palompon , Leyte, Ormoc City and the lake on top of a volcano.) And lots more to visit beautiful beaches in Inopacan Leyte.
lifeguard2564 It depended on the size and weight, I sent mine by sea mail (takes up to 3 months) and my bigger box was $70 and my smaller parcel was $40
Why does nobody ever speaks about the WEIGHT! That's the number one obstacle for budget airlines, the weight restrictions on hand luggage... 7kg for Air Asia. Many months with 7kg+ what's on me I guess for me it is...
3:10These pants have the auspicious Vedic Hindu symbol ऊँ printed on it. This symbol should not be printed on any clothings which is worn on the lower half of the body eg trousers, pajamas, etc 😐 in my opinion.
She needs the wifi for her videos and website, genius. And backpacking in this case means traveling around the world with just a backpack. You can stay wherever the heck you like.
Seeing you whip out that Canada jersey made me so unbelievably happy :) lots of love from the great white north!
Thanks for the new video. So excited to see it. Australia has always been my dream to visit. Thanks and keep enjoying.
Cool to see the changes after a year! Thanks!
As a first time solo traveller your videos have helped loads! Thanks for the tips.

Reg D It's an op shop in Australia called Vinnies :)
+PsychoTraveller Haha Vinnies is a nickname for St Vincent de Paul which is a charity opshop :)

you look so nice :)
Any special reason for saying you'd got 4 bags but holding up 3 fingers (well, 2 and a thumb)? Some 'in' joke I'm missing maybe?
3:10These pants have the auspicious Vedic Hindu symbol ऊँ printed on it. This symbol should not be printed on any clothings which is worn on the lower half of the body eg trousers, pajamas, etc 😐 in my opinion.

People don't go backpacking to stay in places with good wifi.
And 'backpacking' in Australia is laughable. Stay home sweetheart.
She needs the wifi for her videos and website, genius. And backpacking in this case means traveling around the world with just a backpack. You can stay wherever the heck you like.
