1970 hemicuda was there ever more heavymetal thunder than this? Due to legal constraints Plymouth featured the Cudá heavily in their print ads shown with body colored shaker hoods. The lawyers said they must offer the red Cudá with the body colored shaker. The body colored shaker created glare from the sun so all other shaker equipped cars were either painted argent gray or black. The red charger in the background is a charger 500 Nascar special. The oddball feature of this car were the magnum 500 wheels.
Thanks for the info on the comment. I zeroed in on the shaker hood. I said to myself that’s not right! It should be like flat black or gray! I’m not a big Mopar guy but I do love them and I’ve never seen one with body color like that. Thanks for pointing that out, never knew that before
A good friend of mine from High School bought one back in the early 80s' Black on Black 440 Magnum Shaker. I think he paid $2800 for it back then. I hope he still has it!

Pontiac had their version of a "Hammer Commercial" too. They used a crowbar to tout their Endura bumpers on the '68 GTO. One of the actors from The Planet Of The Apes did the swinging!
@@kepler240 Sorry it was actually Beneath The Planet of The Apes. The actor was Paul Richards. He played the human mutant named Mendez XXVI. Just think if that actual Hemicuda was auctioned a Meccum . Would it bring $4 Million since it had the prominence of being in a commercial and getting its Elastomeric bumper beat with a sledge
In 1979 a guy drove up to me and my Challenger and offered to sell me his white Cuda convertible with the shaker hood and a pistol grip four-speed. he wanted 2,700 for his car. But I had no money and had a nice car.

The car appears to be an early prototype. The original Hemicuda ad showed a red car with a red shaker hood scoop. Hey guys, I just finished my time machine. Who's coming along with me to race that Cuda and Charger?

Very true
