I have Origami (Killian Criminal of Love) and Covalent (Gucci Envy for man) both discontinued, Killian was Russian market exclusive. I was amazed by quality of both, I have to give advantage to Origami - papyrus rose magic
I recently received the two other bottles I ordered from them and will be making a video, but the point is that they are pretty amazing and I'll be ordering more from them. Really impressed by the house!
Is Solon closer to Sauvage Elixir or Haltane/OfG? It has a ton of votes for DSE on Fragrantica and I want to make sure it’s closer to Haltane before buying 😭🤲🏼
@@Michaelmorris25997 I get the comparisons, it doesn't smell exactly like Haltane/OFG OR Savauge Elixer, but has characteristics of both. It has the body of Haltane without as much of the Oud and some of the spiciness of Elixer. If you're looking for a more pure version of Haltane, the new Detour Noire Eco might be more in line with what you want. If you're into the idea of a twist that has shared DNA from both, then this may work. Though I didn't see Solon on Athena's website anymore. Just in the premium discovery set
@@joesmellsgood I don’t mind the twist but I’m not sure how people will take it, I want to make sure what I’m wearing is palatable for people since I live in the US and am 21 years old. I was contemplating between Solon and ABHA. I heard ABHA has a funk to it and but I’m not sure if it’d be too much for western noses. I like how both of their notes are looking and this will be a complete blind buy, but I trust your taste in fragrances 🙏🏼 if you had to go with one being my age and for complement factor and uniqueness, which would you go for? (I reached out to them I can still get a bottle of Solon even with it not being on the website)
@@Michaelmorris25997 I am 38, but between the two you stated, I personally prefer Abha and don't find it too funky myself. That being said, this is actually an insane value cause it's like 14 3ml bottles, which means you get like 5 wearings or more per sample. You may find that one of the 14 you like WAY better. Edit: Solon is probably the safer choice for you, but I'd still recommend the discovery set because it gives you so many options and enough juice to wear for a couple months probably
@@Michaelmorris25997 I'd also say that Solon will not be taken poorly at all by western audiences. It dials down the Oud that COULD be challenging and amps up the spiciness, so it's broadly appealing imo.
@@joesmellsgood Hmm… In that case, I think I’ll risk it with ABHA. I think it terms of uniqueness it’s more unique since it’s a twist on a more expensive discontinued product. From this discovery set, Eyes is clean and has really been growing on me. it's their clone of Tygar and comes across as a clean citrus fragrance, but lasts a really long time. probably my 2nd fav currently from this set. Outside of this set, I will be talking about their clone of MFK Absolue Pour le Soir which is called "Hive", but that one is a very nice powdery soapy fragrance with a bit of an edge I quite like. I will be recording a video about that one soon.
For me pretty great. It depends on the fragrance because citrus heavy stuff will obviously not last as long, but I get a good 5-6 hours on most, more for the more resinous stuff they have in the premium collection
