for varugalamo I listen to the original score by M M Dandapani Desigar. That to me is the benchmark. Just the right amount of tempo and lot of Bhava. Taking nothing away from TMK though.

This youngster paces his singing according to his will & moreover edited verson, which makes a sr.listener like me get irritated.. I don't why this younster is eccentric, inspite having talent. There can be only one eccentric musician, that was Mali, his antics too were also brilliant in the midst a wonderful rendition of flute kutcher. Everyone enjoyed it. But this man is not mali, his eccentricities irritates us.

That certainly makes me a very senior listener. (I am 72 years old.) His music and singing never irritated me. Why do you say his music irritates senior listeners like you? On the contrary, I consider his music celestial. His singing is Karnaamritam! It is divine. Just as MDR is MDR, there was no one like him, TMK is TMK, there is no one like him. The only man who can sing like him is perhaps Narada himself, no one else. During Sri TMK's concerts, I have felt "ananda" and shed copious tears. He sings with bhaava. Few vocalist now a days bring tears to my eyes.
