The first few times I went to Laughlin, 163 was in the process of being widened to 4 lanes.

This is going down memory lane. I think over 20 years ago driving from Las Vegas to Laughlin. I was traveling on the same highway, but obviously in the opposite direction.
I think at that time most of hwy 95 and hwy 163 were both two-lane highways.

For the few years i lived in Vegas i never went the far south in the state.
