- It's too emotional to express when loved ones leave back to Homeland or even vice versa. Parents were with us for a month and our home was so lively after they joined us. I used to be very active when they were at home. Preparing something special for them, taking them out to places that they would love to see, eating out at authentic Malabar restaurants, and many more. Now its the same usual routine.
I feel really blessed to have such in-laws who are very flexible in their dealings. They don't restrict anyone, be it their children, me, my co-sisters, or even grandchildren. they respect our decisions and let us live the way we want, unlike many households where our culture doesn't permit us to live in a happy mode. I don't blame anyone for it, but it's our culture or societal norms that have conditioned some in-laws to be rigid and stubborn with their daughters-in-law. And this indirectly brings, not hatred I would, a sort of dislike towards them in any matter.
I always tell my friends, even I have once told it out in a video, that, a good mother raises up a good mother in her daughter. Similarly, a good Mother-in-law brings up a good mother-in-law in her Daughter-in-law. I know I can be a good mother-in-law for my boys' partners or wives, and if so, then all credit to my mother-in-law.
Yes, we have shifted again to another apartment. The previous apartment is somewhere I loved because it was my favorite. But yes, it was a bit congested. My husband wanted to move to another apartment soon even before parents were coming. But unfortunately, we could get one only a few days before they left back. being pregnant, moving to a new flat isn't as easy as how it used to be. shifting was hectic and arrangments in our new home aren't complete. will take time.
