Actually, increasing (boost)power via the crank pulley, you go bigger diameter, not smaller. At 16lbs of boost on my '03 Whipple Cobra, I run an .028 gap on my plugs and silver core plugs have the best conductivity. Brisk makes nice silver plugs. No misfires ever! Also, with a smaller upper pulley you should really add an extra auxiliary idler pulley(goes next to the supercharger pulley) to prevent belt slippage. Metco makes a great kit with dual bearing pulleys for added strength.
With all the heat, only having 4 thread heads on yours, and especially frequency if you’re going to change the plugs often you’ll want to use Anti-Seize. ruclips.net/video/HbSYnVAXzD8/видео.html
I have a question for you. I am about to do the same thing and I am curious how you removed the flat piece in the center of the stock eaton pulley to be able to pull it off.. do you just push the pulley back with the tool and unscrew it? can ya help me out here I'm baffled.
Id recommend ditching the bama tune and getting a real dyno tune! The bama tunes turned out to be extremely lean when I went to the dyno with my cobra with the same mods, so just be careful and get a wideband
@@jbnnm657 Not unless they need to be changed out. If they still look good then they should be fine. Unless your getting it tuned then they should be swapped out regardless
spark plugs need to be gapped ,and torqued to 11ftlb or your gonna have some issues down the road .. also you need a snub idler.. but gonna need a longer belt .. Last I would not use the bama tune. . I would tow it , or drive slow to a local dyno shop. you'll be 1000% safer that way.
I agree on that also Bama tunes are garbage! My friend got one for his 2015 s550 when they where new and when we installed the tune the car idled like shit would bog all the time and the car would randomly accelerate till redline if it was idling,
You can retain the stock belt size with a 2.76 pulley when running the idler set with the snub idler. So much wrong info in this video. And thinking you could pull the pulley off with a rented puller from an auto parts store....WTF???. At least I know the things being done on my Terminator are being done right.
@Brown Man you dont need any of that to up boost 4 pounds. even when you swap out the charger for a tvs 2300 you don need to do anything and it takes boost to17 pounds. just need a tune and it come with any charger up grade.. you would be doing a lot og thing that you dont even need to made 800whp
@Brown Man sure dont but for what he is doing he dont need that stuff a tune and he is good. a lso there a lots of videos of these cobras getting more boost with nothing even from tuning performance shops. so if you like to waste mmoney for no reason go ahead. the factory over builds stuff because they know you going to add power.
@Brown Man ruclips.net/video/_bmwhgLKTtI/видео.html he went to a much smaller pulley here with out those upgrade also. it says intake but he did a CAI and a catback exhaust is really no better than factory. but he did none of the cooler fuel stuff you said was needed

Let me know when you're parting her out
Is his pulley not safe?
@@chrissmith7765 - its fine...The bottom end uses forged parts and very heavy duty manley connecting rods. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
No slippage at all? LMR website says it takes a 73.50" belt for a 2.76 or 2.8 pulley.
Do you know what’s the part number for the belt
So the hand held tuner has a preloaded tune? An outside tuner doesn’t have to tune it? Just curious? I just bought an 03
Hey man i have the small pulley still havent installed on my lightning i just want to know what tune did u get

How could you tell the size of the belt you need after installing the smaller diameter pully?
you know the pulley size and old belt size, pretty easy to figure out
i know its been a while but you wouldnt happen to still have that oem pulley would ya? if so id like to purchase it.
Paint stamps on the plugs are a sign that they are the original plugs but they look alright for the age and mileage

I have the same pulley for my 03 Lightning. Do u really need a tune after putting the pulley on?
not necessarily but it will make a huge difference
You absolutely need to retune it after putting a smaller pulley on
@@Lethal_Venom do you really need to replace spark plugs every 3k miles?

Have you had any slippage issues since you put that belt on? I can imagine so..

Yea I second that. Also for good info on these cars go watch some of @DannyJohnson Videos and go to SVTPerformance.com
^^ agreed. Friend melted a piston in is 60k mile mach one due to a “Bama Tune” but beautiful car man 💯🔥🤟🏽

I see you on tiktok all the time lmfao I was looking into doing this into my car and I end up finding you haha I know Dylan real well
Dude last time I watched your channel you had the TT, nice Cobra I just picked up a 2003 Torch Red one.
Didn't do the idlers......
The pulley on the supercharger has nothing to do with the rpm of the alternator only if you change the crank pulley
Do I need a tune for this?
Yes
What kind of pulley puller is that and where can I get it??
It is a Metco puller and I got it from AmercicanMuscle.com
Brenbo so I puller but my problem is I can’t get the threads out of the supercharger shaft. Idk what I need to do. Any help?
Get it at lmr.com

if u havent already pickup oil seperators
Brenbo is the smartest person I know
Brett Monarch you must know a lot of dumbass people then
This entire video is cringe. Bama tuner? Generic autozone pulley puller? 2.76 without a snub? Smfh.
Also, larger lower SC pulleys increase boost. Smaller ones decrease.
Exactly! I'm glad to see that someone else picked up on that. Good show bro.
Lower SC pulley???... Im assuming you meant to put lower crank pulley...for those reading your comment...if so...you are correct.
no a larger one would spin it slower. this is not a centrifugal charger

Should of got your belt from rockauto
nice termi bud, follow for a follow go subscribe! car reviews, some diy and auto industry discussion
Sucks that you had to pay so much just to be able to get the pulley off
Dump the Eaton then you will make big power...
Hah he took my advice
Do more video! Nice video
thanks man
Man im sorry harbor freight sells a pulley puller that would of worked for 20 bucks
you didn't show us fool
Go to local auto parts store and get the puller for free .you rent the tool bring it back duh
Its a specific puller for a Eaton supercharger. The generic puller from the parts store will not work
Toomuch BS, nothing showing in video
