This cover nearly brought tears to my eyes. I can never find a good cover of this song, or many other songs for that matter, but it seems like you two can't make a bad tune.

Excellent recording guys. I’m still not a big Springsteen fan, but the guy certainly has earned his place in American Rock & Roll history. This is one of my fave’s of his though & those harmonies coupled with Carson’s clear, strong vocals make it a killer song.

My favorite version of this song
My father used to say that, "if the strings sounded scratchy, you were in tune".
That's some of the loudest string scratch I've heard on a recording. To me it shows that the recording hasn't been overly processed.
@@lazygoodan I don't mind hearing strings scratching. Even some wrong notes sometimes. It just means that real people play real instruments.
A good thing to eliminate though, if you can.

Like Have Mercy and Colorado Soldier, I wasn't sure what you could change from your first recording to make it worth a new recording, but you did it again! Aside from the violin and bass which make a load of difference, the little changes in how Carson sings them and the different textures of the strumming make this worth it.
I don't know what I'm gonna do in 2 weeks when I don't wake up with a new song in my feed!

Back when this song came out I was in college, and with my early afternoons free, I unwittingly became addicted to a couple of soap operas. This was the theme song for a particular character. Now every time I hear the song I think about Beau and Hope.
