The paranoia on the island is real. Yul did a great job putting the poker bug out there and being able to stay out of the drama of it, even making himself the go to middle man between those worried and Tyson. Beautiful work.
Don't get me wrong I think it was a smart move given that he hasn't played in a long time I still think it benefits Rob. At the end of the day Sandra and Rob are playing advanced Survivor everybody else is playing basic🤭
@@lexiasmith5246 Agree! Amber was close to my top choices this season but I never took into account they would target her to throw Rob off. Natalie was a shock to. But with the Jeremy connection it was a risk. I had assumed they would take out Jeremy first, but I was wrong again! I'm 3 steps behind all these players this season!
Trumpy Dog - I think it was too early to take out Jeremy because it’s still a tribe game and Jeremy would be needed to challenges.

i’m kind of surprised Ben’s name wasn’t thrown out there on the first tribal. he literally was going around telling everyone everything.
I'm sure everyone is thinking that .. but they probably still believe his strength is necessary early on - although Natalie was easily the strongest woman on the tribe.
Rob probably sees him as a two way radio to what’s going on around camp.
Maybe he will be next target but he will pull out a #BenBomb!
Ty Therien same, I think he’s putting himself in a bad spot because to some this will make him untrustworthy

I feel so bad for Natalie and Amber because neither of them really did anything wrong. They both got cut for being really close to someone else outside the game.
And I think the red tribe definitely made the wrong decision voting Amber instead of Tyson. The longer Amber and Rob stay the bigger their target gets and the smaller everyone else’s gets, and Tyson’s a much more dangerous individual than Amber.

If you were in Amber's tribe, going to tribal second, after the other tribe gave up a female, would you really want to get rid of one of your strong males, or one of your weaker females? Yes, some of the strong are dangerous, but so are some of the weak, and when playing the long game, it is not good to be on the weakest tribe.

It can't keep up this pace, but that opener was maybe the greatest watching of Survivor I've ever done. The editors are at the top of their game.

I’m actually glad EoE for this season. I like the fire token twist. EoE only works for all star seasons.
I didn't watch Season 38 so I'm not sure how the whole Edge of Extinction thing works. Is it like Redemption Island or is it different??
TheDude208133 similar but there’s no duels. Everyone on the edge of extinction competes in one challenge at a re-entry point in the game and the winner goes back in the game
TheDude208133 every person voted out goes to EoE, but no one goes home. The more people voted out, the more on EoE. At a certain point there’s an EoE challenge. If you win you’re back in the game. If not you either stay on EoE, or if it’s the last opportunity to get back, you’re now on the jury.

A lot of her game was people just being stupid. Troyzan literally told everyone what is going to happen. Did they do anything when that happened? Nope.
I can't say I feel bad for her, because earning some perspective and learning how it feels to be on the bottom and not have complete control of your own fate in Survivor is a common reality for so many people who play this game, and for Kim to experience that will help her fully appreciate and understand every facet of this game she claims to be such a huge fan of.
This is a real test to see her social game. Parvati and Sandra have both been in that situation before in HvV with everyone against Parvati. Parvati was right when she said she was sitting in the final 3 against God's plan.
Kim is literally one of my top 3 female survivor's. But, She is a beautiful, likeable,smart woman who has most likely been the cool kid her whole life. So, this was a big life lesson. I think she got to see things from the other side of the tracks. So to speak. This is why we love survivor. I hope kim goes deep.
P.s. Jeff Probst you are my favorite survivor. Boston Rob is #2 now.😊

It seems 'saying a name' is a new way to enlarge the target on your back. The way Rob 'launched' Parvati over that water wheel - there's no WAY you can get rid of him early. And when Jeremy received his coin from Natalie and said 'Don't worry, Imma get 'em for you.' that was priceless. And yes, ten thumbs up to whoever designed the Tribal Council area.

I have to say there was some pretty good damage control on both tribes before tribal council. Danni having to contend with Rob after Ben starts spilling beans on private conversations, Tyson taking the target off his back and putting it on Kim and Amber after he realizes he's being targeted for this supposed "poker alliance," and Adam shifting the target onto Jeremy and Natalie after being lost with Denise at their own camp
You are right on. Adam did exactly what he had to do. And Tyson (whom I dislike) did great at immediately shifting gears and redirected to Kim and Amber
I thought Kim wormed her way out of the Poker thing quite admirably at Tribal as well. And she didn't do a bad job keeping that body in shape either!
Yul has been making great plays by setting up 2 alliances thus having the upper hand on votes he’s in a good spot if he plays his cards right if he makes it to the final this could help him win

I don’t think Amber will win her way back into the game but I like the idea of her throwing idols and advantages at Rob from EoE and helping him in that way because she can’t actually be there.

To be honest, I really didn't like that Chris was able to spend more than half of the 39 days out of the game and then come back to win, but I like the EoE twist on an All Star season. I think the producers know it's hard for so many of us to say goodbye to any of our winners. Even though almost all of the players on the edge won't return to the main game, it's great to know they have a chance to stay alive in the game. That's just my opinion.

The best part about All-Star season is that we get actual good players instead of idiot newbies who scream "Big-Movez" and betray their own allies for no good reason other than to look flashy. Great to see a stable cast, and a great group of characters!
Umm, half these people won because they did near to, or absolutely NOTHING (one even twice). That doesn't make you a "good player", that makes you lucky about the other people you're around
@@robw4743 False. Under the radar gameplay is greatly underappreciated, big moves are 90% of the time stupid, so it is fun to see these more calm players play in my opinion.

Although I don't disagree that it's "a strategy" for some to do nothing, it's only useful given the right set of other factors. There are plenty of players, on plenty of seasons who get picked off quickly and easily attempting the same things that some have won the game doing. That's literally luck.
@@robw4743 Or if you just look at the facts, the game naturally awards more laid back players. Survivor is very much luck I will agree with you on that.
Every game is different. The only consistent thing is the social part. Being good in challenges is great at the beginning, not so much at the merge. Strong alliances are good, getting in the right alliance is better. Being flexible is best. Leaving the doorways open is good, willing to work with anyone to benefit yourself is best. Being aware of all around you can take you from the bottom to the top.
We should have a season where either jeff or some of the cast plays im curious how he/they would do
no surprise but you can tell Jeff understands the game very well based on his answers of the psychology/strategy of the game.
20 years of experience
After 20 years I still love this show! It changes all the time making it different each season rather than getting boring. The fire tokens this year are a huge unknown to the game , I'm hoping this will be the best season ever with the caliber of players they have.
I'm eager to see what Kim does now that she is at the bottom of her tribe. I'm rooting for her to prove that she is a force to reckon with.

Pavarti, Rob & Sandra IMO are A+ Survivor players the rest are A, B grade or conciliation winners. I hope the winner of the season is not a mediocre player who flies under the radar. What makes Pavarti, Rob & Sandra great IMO is they are not scared of who they are. They are friendly with you, knife you in the back with a smile on their face.
Yeah I'm not a fan of Sophie's gameplay where she lays low and hidden behind others in the majority alliance. She did it with Coach and she is doing it again with Yul.
I think Yul and tony are A+ too honestly
Yul is my pick for my friend’s survivor pool. I feel great about his performance in the first episode and his position moving forward.
@@lennonrichison2827 i'm not sure about Tony being A+. His gameplay in Cagayan was A+ but he was terrible in Game Changers, if he can do well here he could maybe become one of the legends
Stop trying to convince us that you're a survivor fan if you can't even spell Parvati's name right, I can tell that it's not a typo because the r is 2 letters away from where its supposed to be. Also, if you think that the only A+ players out there are Parvati Rob and Sandra. Then your opinion must just be based on the comments. Tony, Yul and Tyson are all A+ players. Also Sandra didn't do anything that significant until Game Changers. Sandra was a mediocre player that flew under the radar on the seasons she won.

Not voting Rob and keeping him around is smart cause he’s a bigger target that everyone wants to hide behind like Tony said as meatshilds. Now that Ambers gone Robs going to be pissed and that’s perfect to hide behind the guy that’s pissing everyone off.
The real question is ....wasn t voting Amber out more dangerous than keeping her in? I love Amber but the more traction she d get the bigger her and Rob s target would be..they cannot BOTH play the game and BOTH have alliances at 2 different tribes. That d just make an easy first 2 post merge evictions. BUT, her early eviction allows Rob to form his connections and provides them the benefit of looking weaker while having opportunities to get advantages...honestly if I was there w my husband in this setting I d want one of us to get voted out asap.
I'm shocked Rob wasn't voted out first. But between him and Amber, her going first was definitely to their benefit IMO.
I want Amber out asap so Rob has no albatross on his neck. Besides, let's get real, she won her season largely due to Rob.

Super smart move to remove Amber. She most likely won't survivor EoE (especially againat Natalie), which means blood vs water is over. Also suprised to see Kim play like this, I didn't expect her to play the bottom poorly. Also..... just Parvati and Boston Rob. A pair I didn't know I needed, but now it makes so much sense.

I’ve been saying Kim was painfully overrated for months. Her season was one of the stupidest casts ever which made her look better than she was.

They did but it was cut out of the episode
If you read Dalton Ross's recap, he said that there was a lot of people getting up, whispering, "live tribal" etc... They just didn't show it... I suspect its because there are bigger "live tribal" moments in future episodes and they didn't want to blow their load early.

Since they only showed Jeremy and ben mention Parvati and Boston robs name, that edit is most likely intentional and something will happen in the future in regards to that comment

I can NOT imagine a better host for this show than Jeff Probst. Amazing, every season. That said, I can't help but wonder what type of Survivor player he would be. . .Also, this Winners at War idea is gonna be huge in regard to ratings. I am wiling to bet there will be a Winners at War 2, and maybe more. And I am absolutely OK with that. . .One more thing: Rob and Parvati pseudo-dating was a definite highlight in episode one. Too funny.

Jeff hit the nail on the head with Amber. I don't think Dakal thought that through that she can now send her husband things from Extinction. Tony had the right idea too of keeping her as a shield
1:30 I like how Jeff says "so many different eras as if it's a complete mix. 3 winners from 1-10 as their as their first winning season, 3 winners from 11-20 as their first winning season, 7 winners from 21-30 as their first winning season, 7 winners from 31-37 as their first winning season. A few of the winners from the 20's played in the earlier seasons. This may be a mix but it's a very new school heavy mix. I think they did a good job picking this cast, there's not much they could have done to get it better.
Only 4/16 entirely old school winners (haven't played in a season 15-20ish-present)
So many people didn’t like Ben on his season, but I did. And right now, he’s been pretty funny and I really don’t understand why people don’t like him.
It's not that we don't like him - we don't like the way he was ushered into the winner's circle. Go back and watch his season - the last 4 or 5 episodes where every effort is made to get rid of his sorry ass and twists pop up to save him every time. #rig

I feel like Parvati and Rob should’ve voted out Adam/Denise. That way they could target Nat and Jeremy the next time. The target on Adam and Denise was very dim and it won’t last. Natalie's strong as hell, possibly the strongest woman of the season, but to say she might be better than Rob is ridiculous, he's one of the biggest challenge beasts the game has ever seen. He's always carrying his tribe in challenges. And in the 2 seasons that he made it past the jury portion of the game, he won 4 individual immunities both times. Rob is the biggest beast out there this season by a mile. Plus he's a camp asset and the best shelter builder in the history of the game, so it's not surprising at all that he is being kept around for a while.
Bendrix27 yes! youthful rob but now he is older AND Nat had no individual immunity wins but has become a crossfit champion since the seasons. It is possible Rob is stronger but Natalie is also just as strong. you should take those things into consideration.
@@raditayaance I do take those things into consideration, and going by the season so far, Rob showed that he is still a beast. I don't think Natalie could have launched people over that log in the last challenge.
Natalie could probably own him at endurance, but when it comes to brute strength, Rob goes all out.

My favourite player in this season is Tony, before the game I really was rooting for him but thought his chance was slim. But I think he knows he's a target and I'm surprised to see that he didn't get voted out. I hope he can keep the foundation steady, find idols and make it to the end.

I'm wondering how Jeff will announce the winner to the final 3 if the Reunion Show is cancelled due to the Coronavirus. It looks likely because Los Angeles extended their stay inside order until May 15 and the finale show is on May 13. Reunion show is the only thing that could be affected by the COVID-19 because it's live. All of the other episodes were filmed months in advance. The final voting may be a weird one! I could see Jeff talking to the final 3 at home via a 3 way video chat with the final 3 at home.

Tbh taking Amber out was one of the worst things they could do. Rob doesn't need to worry about her being voted out, or crushing in challenges.
Sandra and Rob worked their tribes just like the old days....but bolder. Tyson and Adam are going to up the ante.
Sandra now has an idol so that's dangerous.
Tony is either going to have a stroke or explode into a super saiyan.
Rob and Parvati better forge a strong alliance and find idols or they'll be busted up.
Great 👍 interview Dalton. Natalie looked too strong and athletic. She is very good, she could minimize the stamina and just be more social. Amber was more because of her connection to Boston Rob and was too vocal. Socially incorrectly played by both ladies, well, according to the editing 📺 Boston killed that challenge lifting everyone under water 🌊 and then everyone pulling him. Amazement.

He was on Johny Fairplay's podcast and he explained that Probst tried to ruin his game with his questions so he didn't give him any satisfying answers, allegedly they both started swearing at each other. Now he is married with children and he doesn't seem to be a bad guy. One thing I know he is amazing player, one of the best villains who ever play this game, he is like Cool Hand Look in real life and he shold have another chance to play. I don't care that Probst doesn't like him, if he was more active on SM, people would want him to play again.

Most likely to win -- Yul, Ben, Michelle. Just a guess.
You leave Rob in to make him a shield for having 2 numbers with his wife, you do the same Natalie and Jeremy 2 pairs , 2 huge shields. Convince the 2 pairs are going after each other so they team up with you so you have both pairs in the game in your numbers, as well as them not teaming up together to become an unstoppable foursome, because they would see that.
You keep Amber in for the same reason and also YOU DO NOT KNOWINGLY GIVE ROB MORE FIRE TOKENS AND SEND HER TO EDGE OF EXTINCTION TO HELP OUT ROB WITH ADVANTAGES!!!
Aside from Sandra, no one knows how much power being on EoE actually gives Amber. No one is aware that she can funnel advantages to him, aside from Sandra. And if Sandra were to reveal the existence of all those advantages, she could only do so be revealing her own idol, making its power almost nonexistent.
As for fire tokens, he only has two, not enough for any of the advantages players still in the game know about.
Without knowing about the advantages Amber could send him, Amber was an easy vote to weaken Rob’s standing, which could be critical. Could you imagine if they were both still in at the swap and ended up on the same tribe? One had to go, and Sele didn’t boot Rob. It had to be Amber.

Jeff I really like and love you and how you host the show, this season will do good a %100 but you really mess it up when you didn't include Rich :( the season is good but if you only add Rich into it the season will be greater than it should be :( this is an honest opinion from your avid in the Philippines, we cannot go back and put Richard Hatch in but I just want to let you know that you've made a huge mistake :( and this season will be remembered as a good season probably getting more views than previous season but the essence of the title of the season diminished when you didn't include the first sole Survivor winner in Winners at War, I hope you will have the time to read this and I'm hoping for the best to each and every one of you out there :) love from the PH :)
JBSB Matters after what happened between rich and sue in heroes versus villains and then what happened last season with Kellee and Dan it just wouldn’t have been a good idea to bring him back.
@@valeriek8537 but the problem with that is, Rich has nothing to with that, Sue could easily step on the platform to finish her turn on that challenge but she decided to go back and hold Rich on his waste, watch Rich side of the story on his RUclips channel they've re-watched that part and found out that Richard Hatch didn't do anything wrong and even the survivors during that time had been asked if they want to give Sue a second chance because a day after she quit she suddenly wanted to go back, the cast during that time responded that there's no way they wanted Sue to go back as a survivor, Rich explained it better on his channel better check it out as well so you could know the other side of the story on that incident from Rich himself.
JBSB Matters it’s all he said she said at this point. Times have changed since then and with the #metoo movement there’s no way they are going to poke that bear again especially after the Dan situation last season. Unwanted touching whether intentional or not is still considered harassment and by that definition Sue felt harassed. I watched Rich’s video but I’m not buying it. He’s not taking any iota of the blame for how it could be perceived even if it wasn’t his intent. He doesn’t seem to want to take any responsibility for anything including the tax fraud he was criminally charged for. I don’t support him and I’m not sad he wasn’t included in WAW.
@@valeriek8537 maybe you're right, and I do understand your point of view, but then again Richard Hatch could impacted this season on a huge way, as an avid fan I'm sure of that, is not I defend Rich here I don't know him personally and again I really love watching survivor since day 1 when I was just 13 years old and I do believe removing Richard Hatch in this season lessen the meaning of the title of the season, how can you start a Winners at War season if the first sole survivor isn't on the cast, when he is mentally and physically fit to participate, anyways this is juts my two cents :)
I think that Amber will drop out, she already got 200k US dollars for coming out here. I bet she just takes the easy 200k and heads home richer. Rob also got 200k so it doesn't matter if they win or not they get their placing money and 400k. That's a pretty good deal

Rumor has it (allegedly from the same reddit account who put accurate spoilers since Samoa) that it's Sandra who raises the flag because she hates the idea of extinction island and challenges are not her area of expertise.
So Sandra didn’t like it that Rob didn’t tell her he was going to be on Survivor. He had no obligation to her and shame on her for taking it out on Amber. I’m done with Sandra.
This may seem over the top, but Amber's was the saddest boot for me in the history of the show. I just wanted her to have that experience, to last longer and actually enjoy playing the game. I bet my ass that if Rob hadn't been there, she would've flown under the radar for quite a while.
It was so bad that Amber was voted out. She is a good player and she is the wife of Boston Rob
