Californian here. Man, watching the US and England's training videos is like night and day. England having boot camp style training sessions, taking this seriously; while the US are training like they're in a high school PE class. These European teams have blown past the US. I'm rooting for England all the way this Cup!!
I'm a huge .. huge fan of the England's women's football team... but it's at moments like this that it's so glaringly obvious .. that there is NO diversity in this national team. I state this because.. England is a multicultural country.... but are not representing that diversity at all!!!! I hope to see more inclusivity in the future and opportunity for all girls in England to be able to play football.. and also at an elite level. I know there is diversity at club level.. but most of the English women that play at that level are still mostly white. Being from Canada.. I see sooooo much diversity in our players... so I know this can be achieved. Anyway..... still love all what English women players are doing in the football world... and think these players are truly amazing.

In summary, poor parents don't ferry their kids to training (it's expensive) and the football clubs don't/didn't help. The men's team has the diversity but the top professional clubs from where the talent comes profit very well from developing the youth squads so it's been well established for generations for boys.
