As prot war, keeping up shield block at all times is crucial when mobs begin to hit harder. You can get a free 8 sec shield block every 45 sec with shield charge as well. Nice vid and gj tanking!
Great video, I love these zero to hero series. Tip on last ara Kara boss, warrior can leap out of pull in at the last second and not have to consume a blood.
Video popped up in recommended. Never heard of you before, but now I'm very interested in seeing your progress. Being a dps main myself, i understand the tank anxiety as i am also wanting to move out of my comfort zone and tank, but nervous about going too slow and small for the rest of the group. I hope all goes well for you in your journey!
Nice! Trying to get into healing as a relatively new player so watching players try new roles and kinda...face some obstacles soothes me to get less anxious and just throw myself at it
Nice! Good luck! Maybe you'll heal my group someday! I healed last season and got Keystone Hero. There were some hurdles, but it was fun and I'm glad I did it because healing really helps you learn the dungeons better.
Little "tip" for the first boss of Ara'Kara as not many people seem to know. The adds that spawn after the shrill fixate on players, not the boss, only if they are dragged to the boss by the players that they fixate on, will the Boss "consume" the add and gain the buff, so you can tank the boss quite close to the eggs so the dps dont have to run to far to kill the adds and get back to the boss again.
I also started tanning this season on prot warrior. Got all my portals recently and working towards the higher keys! Love this because I had a lot of the same hurdles and learning curves
Nice! I'm having a lot more fun tanking then I was expecting, and the anxiety of being the tank is going away too. Super happy I started this journey already! Grats on your portals!
For new tanks, I reccomend the pandaria tank trails. Complete at least a silver. Then start tanking. They scale you up or down to an appropriate power level. So it's pretty fair for anyone.
Yeah, those are the things that have been the most anxiety-inducing for me. But I've just been following raider.io paths, and they're pretty simple and easy to follow so far.
@IkazuJapan you can also watch people like tactyks for good pug routes as well. I've been tanking m+ for 8 years now and the biggest thing you'll have to deal with is getting blamed for deaths. If you can deal with people blaming even when it's not really the tanks fault it gets easier. I've gotten to 3k the last 5 seasons as a prot paladin so I'm always willing to help newer people learn
Yeah, it's all the hard core people I won't Tank or Heal. Even on Normal people get mad and kiss you off. I play for fun, not to get views or sponsorships.
Not it is not. I'm not sure how it happened. Something happened in the export of the video that caused this I think. I use Davinci Resolve, and it should deinterlace by default. Unfortunately, I didn't catch this before the video released. However, I just tried reexporting the video, and the second time had no interlacing. I'll be wary of this when I make next week's video
The UI is Growl's weak aura pack (It's actually for healers, but I like the UI so I'm using it for tank/dps). The warrior weak aura is Afenar's Weak Aura Pack.

I didn't know that about shield charge! I have so much to learn still.

Oh nice, I'll have to try that out for next time!

It's actually not that hard. Prot pally is pretty damn easy. You have a crap ton of utilities.

I have every class of tank. All my alts are tank spec because it makes leveling easier and trying for seasonal rewards
If you know what to pull, and the pathing, then tanking isn't that bad.
Learning all of that is daunting.

@@mattgunnoe I have actually seen one of tactyks videos on routes for this season. They certainly do give good insight into what and how to pull.
On NW make sure to face marauders away from the group and especially other melee. Frontal may kill them
Yeah! I remembered on the two pack I think, but the first and maybe fourth marauder I didn't.

I've gotten pretty good at ignoring stuff like this. If it falls apart or I get blamed etc, I just ignore them and move on
Is the interlacing/dithering on the video a stylistic choice?

Gotcha I wasn’t sure if it was like a “captured on film” vibe haha. I’ll admit it was a little distracting.
What weak auras are you using?
The UI is Growl's weak aura pack (It's actually for healers, but I like the UI so I'm using it for tank/dps). The warrior weak aura is Afenar's Weak Aura Pack.
