  • The B.E.V. Consortium, formed by BTA International GmbH, EFACEC Engenharia e Sistemas S.A. and Vassallo Builders Ltd, jointly designed and built the Malta North Waste Treatment Facility (MNWTP).
The Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) plant was inaugurated in February 2016. In the video you will learn more about the intelligent plant concept, which supports Malta in achieving its highly challenging waste management targets.
The treatment of the organic fraction recovered from Municipal Solid Waste has been designed according to the BTA Process. BTA International - part of the Agraferm Technoligies Group - is the technological partner for the wet pre-treatment and the three biological steps: anaerobic wet digestion, aerobic treatment of the digestate as wet oxidation and the process water management, including a biological nitrification and denitrification of the effluent water.

Like Mr Nano, I also have doubts about the installation power of CHPs. But apart from that, the video is very interesting and I'd like to work in a similar plant. Thanks for all!

very nice video. it represents one of the best practices for waste management systems. maybe the CHP should be 0.6 MW and 1.2 MW instead of 600 MW and 1200 MW, are you?

It's a mistake, the exact figure I think is 1000 times less

Could not watch until the end, had to turn it off. An interesting and informative video spoiled completely by overly loud, endlessly repetitive and thus boring and irritating rubbish soundtrack. Why is this background 'noise' necessary? It adds absolutely nothing but distraction to the visual and spoken information. As well, it prevents retention of information. Under the guise of that obscene joke word 'infotainment', a meaningless and ludicrous manufactured term which achieves neither of its objectives, the informative quality of this video is reduced to cater for those who have the attention span of a newt, so that they can pretend that they are learning. Utterly appalling. What is wrong with the sounds of the process machinery with the sound at a reduced and reasonable volume? A pointless pseudo-documentary of a fascinating subject.
