It wasn’t a for gone conclusion. The expectations were and are too high and too rushed. If there was, say, a single core design that each manufacturer could put their spin on with the core idea of as cheap as possible, then, maybe. Picture every manufacturer kicking out a single design. There would have to be a price cap and government could help secure supply chains abroad for raw materials instead of tax incentives. People would buy them on price alone even if it turned out to be little more than an electric Volkswagen Beetle. People don’t need much to get to work and back or to do errands. All I need is climate control, that’s it. That is how you incentivize people, make it easy and in their best interest.

It might be that just MORE cars are becoming " used cars" because of people can't EFFORT cars anymore period, whether it's EV OR ICE. There's a recession and inflation at the moment and some people can't even effort the downpayment on their house. So their new car will be sold and because many/most new cars were EV's you'll see a lot more used EV's in the used car lot.

They even want to start putting batteries in trains, instead of using the tried and tested technology of overhead wires that have worked fine for over a century.🙄
This is such naive thinking. We'll end up with trains with flat batteries blocking the lines and having to be towed off or charged in-situ from a giant mobile diesel generator. After a few years, they'll get the bright idea of re-installing the overhead wires so the trains 'can recharge on the go'.

@6581punk. It's called the revolving door of politics... Been going on for as long as politicians have been able to breath
Yes, of corse heads should roll, but they'll be inflated instead.
Ducati Corse?
Politician being held accountable is the funniest thing I’ll hear all day. People vote for these clowns and then cry about the policies. It’s hilarious.
Well actually it's The ROOT of almost all problems any nation faces. Voters (aka country's shareholders) fail to hold their hired administration accountable, probably only Swiss citizens are somewhat capable of managing their administration.
Vooting 😂
No enmasse protests to tell them to piss off. That is what it takes but far too few ever bother, they just watch and complain.
What about all the people who didn’t vote for them, stuck with the stupid
AHH bless you think "voting" is actually legit
As a german citizen we saw this comming. Our industry will never bei thế same. we are done..
God damn!! The Mainstream is waking up!! This is a massive W for us car owners
I bought an EV and it's brilliant it has removable batteries amd mows the lawn really well
Lucky you. I replaced my 34 year old petrol mower with a battery jobbie and now have range anxiety mowing our postage stamp sized lawn. Damn I miss that Atco.....

A house down the street from me burned down because the electric mower caught on fire. Thankfully the family is ok... now living in a hotel.

Another excellent video mate. I'm an independent garage owner, been a mechanic in the trade since '87 We could all see how fixed this ev plan was. None of the many professional mechanics in my network are in the least bit interested in touching the things. For a start our business insurance which is already high would go through the roof.
I've JUST completed my first year WITHOUT a car on the road...... 🏆
Its been HELL, since I was 16 years old, ive had my own transport....
Now I've got an E-Bike, with a trailer, it takes SEVEN hours to get 20 miles range 😢
If you've GOT a car sat outside, even if its an utter shed or shitbox, love it, 'Cos I'm SO jealous 🎉
I miss my car 🚘 💔 and the freedom of mobility!

Been without a car for 13 years ( ok my wife has one that is supposed to be shared but I pretty much never use it ).
My ebikes get me around ok but not much fun in the rain etc.
A decent ebike will get you 50 miles range if you take it easy and average 10 to 15 mph.
Big problem with them is security, too easy to steal even locked up with a decent chain etc.
Oh just noticed you have trailer too so that's gonna slow things down,
Anyways I get what you say , even an old banger is better than nothing but an old banger can cost more in road tax than a newer car so we are gonna pay no matter what.
Bet they'll come for our ebikes soon enough because no one will be able to afford a car and they need they're taxes...
The chances of somebody, or even ANYBODY, in Government
being held responsible, FOR ANYTHING, is ZERO.

Covid proved that. Where have Johnson and Hancock gone ? Into hiding
Perhaps that's what the term Net Zero actually refers to?!
I'm betting the morons who only watch the BBC won't "know it" 😜
The same people that ran out and bought EV,s are the same people that ran out and got the Jab❤

EV's were never going to replace the petrol cars and was always just one big scam.
There will be pigs flying over in a few minutes ( news paper telling us the truth) !!!!
That means the price of bacon will go up???
It's not rocket science to realise that the electric car industry was doomed from the onset
ONSET - manufacturers of electric bikes 😂😂
outset
EV sales are up 20% this year. Is just the majority of world car sales are in China European car producers lost Russia and now Chinese car producers are becoming better and cheaper than European brands .
This is the stupidity of the Thing - they tried it over 100-yrs ago & it didn't work (even if they know nothing..)
The Emperor must be fed-up of freezing his assets-off?!
None of the scums will be held accountable, none. Worse still is the fact that a lot of them have likely been furnished with a lot of backhanders and benefits
Can you imagine the danger to life x limb travelling across the channel on a ferry packed with electric vehicles? Worse than that, what about taking EVs into the channel tunnel. A disaster waiting to happen in both cases!
This is exactly why ai woupd no longer get on a ferry or use the channel tunnel. It will happen.

@@miamitten1123 what that it costs me about £5 per 250 miles and I only have to service it every 2 years instead of every year . Is that gullible or savvy?
No! It's that you took finance out for an appliance that in a year will be worth half the price. Not to mention you're likely paying 2x as much per month than everyone else for the "privilige". But I'm glad you saved 250 for servicing 🤣.
PS: if you didn't have to take out finance, then you have no business lecturing normal folks cause you're not one of us.

I was chatting with a Zimbabwean yesterday living in Cornwall fixing our busses.
He said the biggest problem is with new vehicles using electric oil pumps instead of mechanical ones. They fail. The engine seizes. New engine required.
A £10 pressure switch to stop the engine if the oil pressure drops, would appear to be the part they missed... :D
@@G-ra-ha-m Electric components are always the Achilles Heel .
@@chasleask8533 Perhaps, but only an electric pump can pressurise the oil before starting :)
So how did we have cars without electric oil pumps for about 200 years?

Have you noticed all the Used Electric Cars sitting on car lots.? I drive alot up and down the CA. State, I've noticed a lot of EV showing up in these used car lots. I've even seen newer used 2024 models just a few months old. That says it all, .. evidently not too many people like their EV . Looks like more are going back to Gas.
Most new cars????? Lol
In Korea a Mercedes EV burst into flame in an underground car park. 23 people injured, 140ish cars destroyed, and apartment building structural integrity compromised by heat of fire.

Back to diesel (non turbo with no choke boxes of course) is even better.

Zero chacne literally any Ev costs more than any ICE car to run.
They even want to start putting batteries in trains, instead of using the tried and tested technology of overhead wires that have worked fine for over a century.🙄
They also argue to cut down trees.

If you missed the comment re. the Georgia Guidstones 1st. new Commandment,
now is your chance to find out what it said before it's too late.
This is such naive thinking. We'll end up with trains with flat batteries blocking the lines and having to be towed off or charged in-situ from a giant mobile diesel generator. After a few years, they'll get the bright idea of re-installing the overhead wires so the trains 'can recharge on the go'.

Lazy journalism? They just repeat whatever governments or big corporations are spouting. Even when it is nonsense, the journalists cannot be held accountable. If it all goes wrong the journalists can claim they were just reporting what official sources stated. A lot easier and less risk than actually putting serious effort into investigative journalism and trying to report facts or truth. Media is awash with this and just seems to get worse.
