    I'm not a farmer, and I don't plan on being one. But I find the technology nowadays outstanding. Alot more than digging a hole and throwing sead down to make the yeil you want.

    I’ve always said you know it was a good project when you were bleeding when it was done. Well the excavator did the bleeding in this case. We got quite the snows here in Lincoln, Neb. Now it is just getting through the cold. The last time I remember cold like this was back in 89 or 90 I think. I remember it being 22 below and driving back from college with no heater core. That was such a cold drive. Good times.

    • @iowANFarmer
      @iowANFarmer  8 месяцев назад +1

      That would make a dangerous drive. It’s like -22 and 14-16” snow here with DRIFTS!

      I was a volunteer fireman at the time and had all my turnout gear in the trunk, so I wore that. Had to keep stopping to scrap the inside windshield to see out. Stay warm.

    Bit of useless info. But do you all know why we have been having very colorful sunrises and sunsets this summer? A massive undersea volcano erupted last year. The shockwave traveled the globe many times. Any ways that is the culprit. And on a funny note,,,, what guy doesn’t like laying pipe??? 😎

    • @iowANFarmer

      Is this true? If so that’s cool.

    • @peteparker7396
      @peteparker7396 8 месяцев назад

      @@iowANFarmer yes! Don’t even get me started on the name of the volcano,,,, but it formed a small island off of Tonga from eruptions and then it really erupted making it disappear. It blew so much material into the atmosphere it reflects the light from the sun and you have these very colorful sunsets and sun rises. Some of what you learn being a rock licker. (Geologist)

    I’ve been watching the farmers a long time, so I’ve learned how expensive it is to hire someone to lay tile. So I wonder how quickly buying all the equipment & doing the work yourself pays off. Kind of like how investing in grain storage pays for itself in the end.

    • @johnwudarcki9315
      @johnwudarcki9315 8 месяцев назад +1

      It’s relative to what needs to be done, how much, what size. Trippy farmer hired out the job of putting in a 24” run parralell to an existing 24” hired a company with a wheel type trencher .

    • @chrissyfrancis8952
      @chrissyfrancis8952 8 месяцев назад

      @@johnwudarcki9315 yes & he said it was extremely expensive. I’d think doing it yourself would pay off depending on your field conditions & area you live in. Welkers in Montana will kill to have a water problem bc they’ve been in a drought for 3 years.

    • @iowANFarmer
      @iowANFarmer  8 месяцев назад +1

      Tile will pay back in 3-5 years depending on what’s been done, cost of the project and future weather.
