Baked Biko Malagkit | Bibingka Malagkit

  • This is my way of making Biko Malagkit and this could be serve without baking. You can also just put half of the caramel topping if you don't like too sweet.
    Baked Biko Malagkit | Bibingka Malagkit
    Ingredients
    2c glutinous rice
    1c coconut milk
    1&1/4c light brown sugar
    1/4 tsp salt
    Topping
    3/4c coconut milk
    1/2c light brown sugar
    1/4c dark brown sugar
    a pinch of salt
    30g desiccated coconut
    Oven Temperature
    180℃ (broil) 8 minutes or more

    Ito ay bibingka malagkit hindi Biko. Ito ay luto ng Tagalog. ina ko siya at 85 years old at yong recipe mo ang original recipe niya. Sarap Sarap nito!

      Ms.cindie reyes, sa Cebu ang tawag sa amin nyan ay biko hindi bibingka. Magkaiba ang pangalan sa ibang city pero pareho lang sila. Maraming salamat!

      Tama ang sabi mo 😊 Every region has its own name for bibingka. I was just saying your the only one who makes it the way my Nanay does. (except she doesn’t use a rice cooker- lol “old school” siya. She was taught the recipe when she was a girl by a baker in maynila.

    With the coconut milk do you use the kind in a can?

      Ms. Andrea pasensya na nagkamali sa title sa sobrang antok. Biko malagkit talaga dapat ang title dahil yun ang nakalagay sa intro ko sa video. Sa Cebu biko ang tawag namin dyan pero sa ibang lugar ng Pilipinas bibingka malagkit naman ang tawag nila. Thank you so much for reminding me.

      aw,.sa amin po biko dito sa palawan.,ang alam ko po sa bibingka malagkit ay glutinous/malagkit rice flour po ang gamit..anyway,thank you for sharing a delicious recipe.,masarap din po kung grated cheese ang toppings alternative sa dessicated coconut😊

      Ms. Andrea pwede cheese ang topping nasa iyo dahil pwede talaga natin i-adjust according sa gusto natin na lasa. Yung desiccated coconut garnish ko lang yan para presentable at the same time match sa lasa. Maraming salamat!

    Why double the cooking of the topping, just mixed it up and pour it right away onto biko then bake it for 30-40 minutes.
