“Utterly Ridiculous!” Women’s Rights Campaigner Investigated By Police For Comments About Trans GP

- A women’s rights campaigner has said she is being investigated by the police after she said a transgender GP enjoys examining women.
Chief executive of the charity Sex Matters, Maya Forstater, made the comments in a post on social media about Dr Kamilla Kamaruddin, a trans woman and former GP..
She says the Metropolitan Police has been investigating her for the crime of malicious communications for almost a year.
Talk’s Kevin O’Sullivan discusses the story with former Metropolitan Police detective Peter Bleksley.
A Met Police spokesman said: “Since this allegation was reported in June 2023, a number of enquiries have been carried out by officers. These enquiries are ongoing. While it is right that we carry out a full investigation, we do recognise the length of time this has taken so far and the impact it will undoubtedly have had on all parties.”

My former GP Dr David Baillie, in plain sight, got struck off and went through trial. Never ever would I have thought he'd be up to this, oh, but he very much was. We have to know the sex of those who intimately examine us (incl nurses) and know we can request a 'chaperone' eg if male

Did the GP inform the female patients that he was a man masquerading as a woman? If not then surely that is a form of sexual assault, especially if the examination wasn’t necessary?

I did my research on the GP prior especially because of the sensitive nature of the issue which required an intimate examination. GP was a transwoman and I made an informed decision. Don't know whether GP would have disclosed this upfront. My body. My choice who examines it.

If I made an appointment with a male doctor and he came into the room dressed as a woman, I would be shocked and terrified. The same goes for female doctor who came into the room dressed as a man! I would immediately leave because I would know I cannot trust this person. I would question their mental health. This information needs to be revealed to any patient up front.

A woman in the normal world can ask for a proper biological female, not a man for any examination and have a chaperone, that is the policy!
As a WOMAN I always wanted a WOMAN to complete a personal examination, if it was a man pretending to be a trans-woman then I would want to know so that I can refuse to have him doing it. Him lying and not informing every WOMAN that he is man. Not every woman is comfortable with him.

It's generally only the women who get arrested for making these comments. They are easy pickings for a police force that follows the line that men must be protected at all costs and that their feelings take precedence. Women are expected to be 'kind', shut up and put up. If a man wants to take down her boundaries, then she is nothing short of nasty for complaining. Many of this doctor's patients would have been too scared to say no, for fear of being labelled transphobic or being denied care.

I like both of these guys, but the bottom line is they're both missing the mark by several miles: the issue is not that it's taken 10 months to a year to investigate this, the issue is the investigation based upon the legislation.

@@dianecameron137 Men should know if their doctor is of female sex - they likely wont know as much about dangly bits as a male. Urologists are always male. However, I imagine some men wouldnt give a toss. Women need regular smear examinations which are internal while men only occaisionally need to see about their dangly bits. Men have bodily weapons that can be used to assault women, and there is a higher risk of a male being a pervert and acting on it. Men should also know if their GP is a so-called trans woman (male). They may also feel uncomfortable with a doctor like that for many reasons, and its their right to see someone else if they want.

I thought the MET police were under-resourced however they seem to spend an awful ot of time investigating what 99.9% would feel is a waste of time. why is speaking the truth a crime?
