even though hasn't been so long since the anime came out, this song somehow feels like a childhood experience, like it was there since the very beginning; it gives me the sensation of an incomplete memory that was patched with dreams, a warm yet obnoxious thing that i carry as a disease yet I would never get ride of :( my english is horrible, I just wanted to say this song gives a very similar feeling to the movie aftersun
Ah creative types, writing fire sentences in foreign languages and apologizing immediately out of nowhere.. Relax, you've proven your writing to be more vibrant and verbose over these few sentences than many native speakers can even imagine :)
Sonny Boy really could've been a timeless classic, I fucking love the concept man it was such an experience watching episodes daily... This song is also amazing af.
@@JoeyEssays for me its the plot, everything else about the show is spot on but because the plot is so absurd, absurd as in meaningless. I feel it just down-grades what could of been I well rounded show. I would put sonny boyx aesthetically in the same boat as tatami galaxy and the monogatari series. Ulimately I feel these shows did much better in this type of anime than Sonny boy because of there followable plot.
@@kencarter6481that's the point of the plot though. It's like a spiritual successer to FlCl where the themes don't hold your hand but are still present enough for you to fully understand what is going on
@@kencarter6481 in my case that was exactly what made it good enough, at first i tried to understand, then my mind just gave up and decided to take a break from trying, it decided it was time to, not understand, but perceive. to be mindful enough that you don't care what happens or how or what it means or tries to symbolise. it just sat there and experienced it all, i may have missed a lot of details and meaningful sequences but still, worth it the atmosphere, the vibe, the emptiness and isolation, the fact that it's all infinite and limitless that comprehension is impossible, you just feel small, helpless and lost but still find it enjoyable

This theme is something else. It sounds so otherworldly and ethereal. It fits perfectly with conveying Yamabiko's perception of Kodama's world at first.
It’s crazy that this might be one of the best ambient/electronic songs ever made and it’s also the theme of one of the best episodes of TV I think I’ve ever seen
You can tell this song is special. It feels cosmic, like you're floating through Saturn's rings. Reminds me of the album Mercuric Dance by Haruomi Hosono. The best track of the whole ost imo

5000 year melancholy
Mid-Air thief, man's a legend
Now I know why this sounded so familiar
This theme is mesmerizing. It also plays during the Kodama episode, probably the best episode of the season.
The season? Pretty sure there's only one season to this
@@tobiasgreeeen I meant the summer anime season

AFTERSUN IS SO GOOD and you're spot on! "An incomplete memory that was patched with dreams" is a beautiful way to put it.

Yamabiko the goat, best episode of the show
This episode was very, very emotional

The first half of this sounds the way flickering 8mm film footage looks, if that makes any sense
Oyasumi
How did you describe that so perfectly
hi ozu
Esta canción me transmite tanto, melancolía, nostalgia, calma, siento que pocas veces voy a encontrar canciones como esta
Efectivamente, es algo fuera de este mundo lo que hizo sonny boy con sus visuales y musica
You know, this is the kind of music that you'd expect to play in an Adventure Time Title Card, or even in the episodes themselves, and I love it
Listen to mid air thief
reminds me of hyperlight drifter ost and I'm obsessed

This track and Kodama's Theme remind me of some combo of Vangelis (of Blade Runner fame) and Disasterpeace (Fez, Hypelight Drifter).

You should definitely check out mid air thief if you’re into this. I’m pretty sure he’s the guy behind this song and has a stellar discography.
