If they would have skipped the rather historically wrong first half of the movie and covered more of what they did in Europe this would have been a much better film. But then I can't argue with William Holden commanding the first special service force. I am quite grateful this exists.

German are so brave..the commander always think about their soldiers they don't needs a helmet to protect the head caps are awesome with just a pistol..

Rifles too long and slow and short thompsons hard 2 hold on target and short range. Really needed a new firearm for this type of combat. Glad M1 was semi auto vs bolt action like Germans had. Bolt action Mauser had to get people killed just took too long to cycle and two hands to chamber a new round

Yeah a lot of German WW2 equipment were melted down after the War.
Captured weapons? They *Did* use those, e.g. *lots* of Russian artillery pieces, and *some* Sherman tanks.
In real life, cliff robertson's character did not get killed.

True, but they did not have any WW II howitzers in Utah at that time. Also, as in Combat!, they use M-46/47/48 tanks.
