Agreed, Mario's one of my favourite videogame characters and it's always nice to see people treating him as the hero he is instead of using the meme version of him that takes a handful of cherry picked actions to act like he's a sociopath. Bowser is the Administrator of the party game and no one complains because the party games require the massive amount of resources Bowser possesses, also DK is the side-Administrator playing good cop to Bowser's bad cop as well as Toadstool being the tertiary admin in terms of delling out 1v1s and other shenanigans.

I always assumed it's because Bowser and Mario/Peach aren't really enemies, so much as business partners to keep the Mushroom Kingdom economy going and Bowser is just playing his role as the bad guy to keep the kingdom status quo going because without a bad guy, things would become chaotic and the people would start fighting each other. Basically, the Mariotary Industrial Complex.

If i were to write a Mario Comic, Bowser and Marios relationship would be like a mix of Goku and Vegeta crossed with Batman and Joker. Like to Bowser, Its about the arch-Rivelry. Its the game of seeing if he can finally beat mario in there game of capture the flag. However, Mario feels like he can make bowser his friend. So even though he has to kick his ass, he still invites him to events because he feels like hes really close to break him.

tbh tho, despite not speaking, the baby versions felt like separate people to the mario brothers in partners in time. i felt a bit sad when they had to go, even though i know they become the current mario and luigi.
