WOw! Tough room, surprising cos we Brits have a fantastic sense of humour, dry wit, so really surprised, because Trevor is ace, pure comedy without profanity, in this day and age, bloody genius!!
yeah ,fuck no. I watch Britain's got talent as well as America's and several other countries' and obviously the british and sorry bud , I don't want to unnecessarily troll but its absolutely true I have always felt the british audience to be kinda thick towards the jokes or something. Honest truth from my perspective.
@@thrace_bot1012 British wit, humour and insults are renowned though. My favourite comedians Daniel Sloss and Jimmy Carr are both British and shows like Mock the week and other comedy skit or talkshows they have are brilliant. They're a lot darker or edgier than American comedians, more my taste
It's Royal Variety, so the majority of the audience would have been older, middle-class white people who don't really understand 21st century comedy. Also crowds in America are generally louder and much more animated regardless of who's performing.
I care very little for stand up Comedy , but Trevor brings it home so super- I can't wait for the next show ever from him!! very smart dude at the same time I have to say
I guess it's because all the sound is taken directly from the mix/mic, so the crowd can be barely heard, only when they switch the mic to get the outside noise ( as you can hear a little echo )...these people are laughing but the sound of this recording is crap ( the direct input of the mic is louder than the audience )... I'm pretend-to-be musician, and sometimes when I received a recording, there was no crowd to be heard since all the sound was from the mix, not combined with the sound from the crowd... :)))
Maybe the crowd were entranced by his wit and the value of what he was conveying. When I first watched one of his performances, I did not laugh for parts only because I was so deeply entranced with the depth of knowledge and wit he was conveying, and deeply enjoying it. Now I laugh when I hear and watch his stand-up comedy as I have been watching every one that I can find of his posted RUclips video works of instructive comedic art.
I think he did good here, he only mentioned his mother and father about apartheid and the other stuff was about the UK and Mandela which was actually good. The crowd was dead though
Royal Variety is a tough gig because of the general audience demographic (old and white); I can guarantee that the other acts performing would have received the same level of apathy. His set was great.
wow..gives you some insight as to what it is like to be a comedian. He worked very hard in that 5:45 minutes without too much relief. He kept trying..ok..that didn't work..trying the next thing..didn't work...next.... yiesh. I applaud him for staying within himself and not losing composure.
Well, I believe, if you are not an illiterate caveman, you have at least some idea who he is. Which is pretty enough for understanding Trevor's jokes. I don't really get the "vuvuzela" part, only the joke about Hell worked well for me. So I believe, it's more about the context you live in: the crowd was reacting to the "crime" part, which for me was so-so up until the "robbery" punch. You appreciate what's closer to you, I guess. And it doesn't mean you are mean or stupid: you just had different life experience.
Lol I can relate about walking through the alley as I'm living in London now. I used to say to my husband it's so odd seeing women walking out and about at 11pm here, you wouldn't do that in South Africa.
Look, it might not have been his best show (not surprising since it's always tough it a different country and culture), but he deserved more laughs than that
I'm British and I loved this & I know a lot of people who did (that's for people who are blaming it on Brits). there were a load of comedians on the 2014 show and people laughed a lot more at them than they did here. He needs some new material because I've heard this loads! it sounds like his material is meant for an younger audience, and like someone below said, the audience was old.
vecust they didnt go quiet, they already were quiet. they laughed at the punchline of that joke, did you expect them to laugh at "he could very well be in hell"? that isn't funny.
@@amazingsupergirl7125 Darwin didn't invent evolution. Evolution is a process that was and still is taking place for billions of years without any help of Mr. Darwin. Pretty good one, but not accurate enough, which leads us to the neo-Darwinian synthesis or "synthetic theory of evolution" as we call it here in my country. The world is lucky to have a comedian of such calibre.
He did his thing, the crowd was just dead
Bobby "Blue "Bland?
Well, they’re all very old, so they’re not dead, but very close.

Well...they're royalty
I love that the Middle Class British crowd had no idea how to react to him, I was laughing like crazy.
Joseph Ed Reed middle class? It's the posh sods that get in

The Brits were nervous when he mentioned apartide. 😂😂
His English accents are awesome and his observations about the people who you will come across in London and England spot on.
Bravo Trevor on being the first South African comedian to perform for the Queen!!The British surely like you very much.
The Queen didn't attend though..
Ooh dear, seems like Lizzy is getting to old for such events.

I feel so awkward for him, he performed well but the crowd was just dead!
Crying with laughter. Literally. Your okay Trevor. Love from Papua New Guinea!
That crowd, christ... Dead.
Jay Parrish shitty crowd
They're all dead... But tasty
He wasn`t that funny, British have a pretty high standard in comedy, but if he hangs around and plays the clubs then he`ll improve.

What I like most about Trevor Noah is that he never forget where he comes from(South Africa) and he's the greatest comedian of all time
worst crowd ever
callum93guerrilla Thanks. I changed it now.
callum93guerrilla It was not bad but i have to agree with you about it not being his best
I think it was a pretty elderly audience. Two of the other comedians made a note about it in their set.
@Bruce Wayne batman what happened to you
Be fair it was a Royal Variety Performance.....
Trevor is always awesome.
I wish this wonderful man would come to Ethiopia.
He will come one day
