I Am DISAPPOINTED
As Someone from Bangalore (Karnataka) I have always been aware of Rashmika , she became an overnight sensation. Her journey both personal and profession has surrounded me.
As someone who is similar age as her I have always admired her for building a career and life for herself even amongst all negativity.
She has been trolled and subject alot of online abuse, and I felt like it was because we live in a patriarchal society where people can't bear to see a young woman build her life on her own terms. Or it was because of a sense of brotherhood people felt with her ex who also happens to be a Big Star Actor (Big Fan>.
I pity her because she is not among the sharp actors nor does it look like she has read any books about India or Karnataka..
just thinks she is cute by showing Korean drama hearts😂

Ughhhh not to be “that girl” but it’s COOOOORG not Curg, the way Kamiya pronounces it. I’m a North Indian myself but really it bugs me endlessly when host/interviewees don’t even bother to check up on pronunciations of the simplest of South Indian names. These small things go a long way in showing respect and harbouring more closeness.
Pronounciation is different in different regions. So people getting bothered or offended by a natural thing is just being too entitled. Its just food pronounce it the way one wants to.

Kannadigas should stop casting actresses because they look good, which i believe is what happened with Rashmika. The production house she mentioned, fell for her pretty face & offered her a film. Instead, they should audition people who truly deserve the role based purely on their talent & not based on looks. I watched Kantara & I was so happy, they chose Sapthami Gowda, who looked the part, with her height (suitable for someone training to be a forest guard) and her earthen beauty. That’s how they should strive to cast henceforth.

She may have had some decent success at the tollywood boxoffice but it has nothing to do with her or her talent.
First of all, except for Dear comrade, every other role she did was nothing short of cringe.
Right from the start we found her a tad bit weird. Her speeches in the audio releases where she was so full of herself. The first such instance was the pre release of Geets govindam.
Like it or not, telugu people prefer actors who are grounded.
But the actual trolls started after her speech during the pre release of Karthi's Sulthan movie.
She literally projected herself as a bigger star than Karthi in Telugu industry. Nobody even goes to the theatre if she shoulders the entire movie on her star power alone.
Meanwhile, Karthi is one of the most loved actors from Tamil Industry in the Telugu States.
A decent talk and we will flock to the theatres to watch his movies.
Sometimes, success is a fluke and that is how life actually is. It is not really fair that people like these who achieve overnight success somehow think that they are above all those people who are much more talented but may not have had commercial successes.
Let her live in own cocoon. Rishabh shetty and Rakshit shetty are already showing the country the actual difference between sheer talent and overnight success.
