My deepest condolences to their families and friends, as well as the Kursk's. You are not going anywhere else, sir. You are on your eternal patrol, in the depth of the silent seas. Rest in love, sailors. Fair winds and following seas 🌷
Just watched this movie in theater. It broke my heart for a reason. I know it is just a movie, but just thinking about those men and their families... so sad and I feel for them very much. Not that long ago this happened. Even in war, even in conflicts, there are just normal people who dont care about war and conflict they are in. Everyone wants peace. Why let innocent people die? Why?
My respects to those Russian sailors who perished aboard Kursk, your 'enemies' in the West - particularly the United Kingdom, would've tried to save you - but politicians and propaganda stopped the attempt in it's tracks and you were lost from this world forever. We are all human beings, this was a tragedy made far worse by those in power who did not care for those who simply wanted to serve their country, friends and family. Deepest sympathies to the families, may your grief be short and your happy memories be everlasting.
I can’t imagine a more depressing subject for a film given what those poor men and their families suffered. I suppose it’s going to raise awareness for people who don’t know. It’s my understanding that using hydrogen peroxide has been a huge mistake every time it’s been tried on submarines and those men had every right to expect their lives to be important and everything possible done. I assume it’s not going to be particularly popular in Russia.
watch this trailer again after the news that KRI Nanggala 402 submarine reportedly missing on April 21st in Bali Sea with 53 crews on board, it’s too heartbreaking 💔
I mean Putin obstructed the foreign nation's attempts at saving the sailors but realistically speaking could they be saved even by US or British specialists?
Actually they couldn't have been saved. They only survived for 7-9 hours. The sub wasn't even located until hours later. It was just a very sad tragedy.
I watched the movie and i saw my pregnant wife and my 2 years old son in this..i am doing a uniformed job,my government and unfortunately the most of the people seeing me as an expendable having the same thoughts/attitude..it was my choice and i knew the dangers before i joined the corpse( i am pretty convinced about that after 14 years in service) ,also the austerity in the Russia in 90's has a lot of similarities with my case ( Greece now days) . I have been in great danger in my career ( in some cases close to death, a few of them thanks to God and luck I survived) in some of them and in these seconds lasted " i saw" my son and i HAD THE SAME CONCERNS.. Will he remembers me when he grows up?and of course many times happened my wife calling me and couldn't reach me ( because in the most cases I was full of work and one of them in hospital because of my job of course). Is the first time in my life caught my self crying in a movie, because I saw my self and my family in there..RIP sailors ,i wish you are in paradise right now because you deserve that.i wish health and happiness to your families.
@@molos3466 Putin blocked the rescue effort, because he had no empathy, placing state technology above the men that run it. His derelict, ancient state technology, for the sake of saving face and protecting the false image that Russian military is somehow mysteriously superior. A few years ago he bragged about having even more new next gen weaponry - unverified of course. Fast forward to what's happening right now in Ukraine, and it turns out Russian military is running on strings and false hopes.
. I am American and for me this was so tragic and so unnecessary how those brave and proud sailors died. So much pride for their Mother Land and proud to be a part of what was meant to protect their family's and there country only to be abandon by the very government they gave there life for. But because of governments pride not to let other country that had the means and technology come to help rescue those brave men when they could have been saved. My condolence the families of those brave men. May they rest in peace. Though they have gone they will not be forgotten.
I am from Murmansk, where the submarine was located before the tragedy. I remember the day it sank. It was a huge tragedy for all of our citizens. 118 seamen... Also I remember the smiling Putin, when he was questioned what happened with “Kursk” by Larry King. “It sunk :)” he said...
Funny thing will happen in Russia, when this movie came out, I'll give my word: from all of ours propagandistic media will be the topics, that this film is "completly lie", that norwegians "did not offer the help" (from all I know they offered the help, but our navy command refused it. Later, by the way, they accept it, but it was too late - all sailors died), that our navy "did all they could", thst "Putin did not smile, when King asked him about the submarine" etc. More of that - they will starts shooting their own movie about the tragedy (for example - we're already shooting our own Chernobyl series, after HBO's) wich tells the "TRUTH" about this disaster. Our goverment did not care about sailors back then. When wifes of Kursk asked Putin, why our ships didn't reach wreckage in time, Putin said something about bad weather or storm at the sea. For the record Norway ships reached Kursk in time and there was no storm. Putin lied about this from the beginning.
This is heartbreaking when I watched this movie about 2 years ago, and now I can't believe this happened to Indonesian submarine KRI Nanggala 402 carrying 53 crew members. And all of them are now on eternal patrol🥀🇮🇩😭
Thousands of brave men and women have died in non combat situations,,and thier relatives and friends are lied to and silenced ..This happens in ALL countrys ...
Matthias Schoenaerts = Greatest Screen Actor Alive If you disagree go watch Bullhead, The Drop, and Rust and Bone; three different languages three different unbelievably compelling, authentic, note perfect performances that were the highlight of their respective films; films where you see him (Matthias) starring opposite brilliant brilliant performers!! Hell, after you watch those movies ya might as well check out his turn in Thomas Vinterberg's (same director as Kursk) wonderful adaptation of the Thomas Hardy novel, "Far From the Madding Crowd"... the man is never less than captivating in everything he does. Edit: I forgot to mention that Matthias speaks 4 different languages, and acts superbly using 3 of them which is an achievement in & of itself, but the fact that he is the standout performer in every movie I've ever seen him in regardless of what language he's speaking places him in a class all his own imho. Also, on a side note, I'll never forget when I first saw him act when i watched "The Drop" (such an underrated film by an extraordinarily talented Belgian filmmaker Michael R. Roskam he also directed Bullhead), I was convinced that the guy playing Eric Deeds (Schoenaerts character) was truly a New York actor I had never heard of; he was so impressive that imho he stole the film in terms of magnetic energy, and just sheer ability... English is his second language, and his newyork accent was better than Hardy's!!!! WTF!!!!!? Well, now that it is 100% apparent that I got a boner for this man's acting prowess (possibly more than that lol) I'll shut my fuck'n yap.
I pretty much agree with you, there is an allure about him... He also reminds me a bit of another fine actor, the Swedish Michael Nyqvist, who though a little older, passed away at a much too young an age in 2017, sadly. I had a hope of seeing them together in some movie or other.
@@Cortezzio Absolutely, even though his recent re-teaming with Roskam in "Le Fidele" resulted in a bit of a weaker film (imho) then Bullhead, or TheDrop; Matthias Performance was yet again, never less than extremely gripping!
How true, I served 21 years in the Navy and remember drinking with Russian Sailors in Pearl Harbor at the 50 year anniversary of the Great Patriotic War (WWII). It saddens me to see that we are slipping back to the Cold War Days, Bear D's in the Bear Box, Unsafe Fly Overs...hell I would not be surprised if there weren't Yankee's once again in the SLBM patrol areas!
I like how they showed brotherhood relationship in this movie, every single one counting on the other mentality. Even the guy who went crazy, and wanted to get out, in the end he was standing there singing with the others
As a Russian myself, I will never forget how Putin left our guys to die at the ocean's depth. I will never forget smirk on his face and phrase "it sunk"
Putin had nothing to do with the incident. He didn't even know the magnitude of the situation as he was being kept in the dark by the navy. He even ordered to accept foreign help
@@dicecorporation This is a lie, since Putin learned about it the next day. And they initially refused to accept help. If we had accepted the help, they could be saved
@@nexter6148 yes, because he was told everything was under control. He was being kept in the dark about what was actually going on. That's what I said lol
Rest in peace, those souls, who have been taken to the Davy Jone's locker. May any sailor ever be losing their life at sea like those submariners did. I understand the intention to "help" and also the reason for denying such help. But those fellow sailors and their families, I can never reason for their lives. _ a fellow seaman from another part of the world.
After all, many of the Russian stories come forward, although we all knew well what happened then, but getting a movie on it shows something completely different, what makes the most evil is, none of the gentlemen in the top were held accountable, they did not care if the soldiers died, as long as they did not themselves lose face, just look at Chernobyl, exactly the same, those responsible are not punished
I remember this tragedy in UK in my 30s, it could have been where at least some of the crew could have been saved, if not for the stubborn Russian government.
Glad to see their stories being told. Despite the adversarial stance of the Russian and Western navies nobody of sound mind wanted to see sailors and their families hurt. Much respect to the submariners who went down with the Kursk.
The Kursk was lost under Putin's watch and by most accounts, this former KGB Head didn't really give a damn as long Russian national pride is preserved above all else. Tragic.
I've been waiting for this movie for a long time. It's an even that should have been made into a movie long ago. For the memory and awareness of the incident.
Usually, the only reason to watch a Western film set in Russia is to laugh at goofs and inaccuracies that make up almost the whole film. But the Kursk disaster was too tragic for this film to have any entertainment value for me.
1.When Kingsman have new job (guy who is playing American General is guy from Kingsman) 2.Someone know this song what ja in background? Please tell me.
Some ppl in the comments have stated that the sailors died within 12 hrs and therefore nothing could have been done. That is *not* the point. Every attempt should have been made, as quickly as possible with all resources available. We all ask our young men and women to make the ultimate sacrifice for us, they do so willingly for a higher purpose. The very least we can do is to help as we can under these circumstances. I do not buy the argument that _"nothing can be done"_ . That does not excuse us from our responsibilities.
Everything possible WITHIN RUSSIAN MILITARY DOCTRINE was done for the Kursk’s crew, once the Russian Navy realised that she was in serious trouble. But that realisation came too late for the Kursk, and it also took too long for the Russian Navy to realise they couldn’t handle the rescue operation alone. Then they had to get permission from the Russian government before asking for foreign assistance. All this took time the Kursk’s crew didn’t have. No blame attaches to any foreign rescue personnel. The vessel in distress was a Russian ballistic missile submarine. Docking with it WITHOUT the permission of the Russian government would be a major violation of Russian sovereignty, and the Russians would be within their rights to open fire on the foreign rescue vessels! The foreign rescue crews could do nothing until they received the Russian government’s permission to assist.
I feel that with K-19 Widowmaker, if this is a 'western' film, we'll probably find a way or only telling half the story :-( It's a tragic story and tbh idk why they're making a film about it.
i remember that woman telling the whole world how she felt and she was just shut down very sad i believe that the crew could have been saved but the leader's of the country did nothing
I feel sorry for those men who died on the Kursk even though I’m an American I respect their bravery and their attempts to stay alive until help came but sadly it was too late I remembered asking myself why didn’t the government help them by asking international help if they did that after their attempts failed to dock on the the Kursk then the 23 men could have been saved before the submarine itself was flooded and the explosion could have been prevented if the torpedo that carried the hydrogen peroxide fuel wasn’t on the submarine damaged in the first place and also if everything was upgraded and maintenance in the Navy before the navy exercise then the outcome would have been different and the crew would have survived and been with their wives and children May the crew of the Kursk rest in peace

It was Russian pride that killed them by refusing our help.
Putin pride killed them
I can’t imagine a more depressing subject for a film given what those poor men and their families suffered.
It won't be allowed in Russia.
you don't have a clue.
who is here after Prashant Dhawan sir video ?????
watch this trailer again after the news that KRI Nanggala 402 submarine reportedly missing on April 21st in Bali Sea with 53 crews on board, it’s too heartbreaking 💔
"We have the equipment and the divers, I implore you to accept our help" awesome the feeling of Colin Firth.
Putin's stubbornness, ego and pride killed these men.
Mind Ur own business yankee
I dont think it was Putin.
Have you lived in Russia to judge this? Not? Then shut up better! You’ll look smarter!
i was a little dude living in russia when this happened. everyone was glued to their TVs. this was like our 9/11
What’s even worse is the Sailors on the Kursk could have been saved. “Politics killed them”
the same happened in argentina
I mean Putin obstructed the foreign nation's attempts at saving the sailors but realistically speaking could they be saved even by US or British specialists?
@@longyu9336 Well the US/UK are tops in Submarine tech. So if not them than nobody. 🤷♂️
@@longyu9336 could have atleast tried
Actually they couldn't have been saved. They only survived for 7-9 hours. The sub wasn't even located until hours later. It was just a very sad tragedy.
I was hoping this would be about the tank battle
so much yes
Omg same like 😂
We are all still waiting for a good rendition of the single largest tank battle in history and the final turning point for the Eastern Front.
Jacob Monteverdi so first Brody was the biggest tank battle of WW2 and of all history, and it wasn’t the turning point of the Eastern Front.

Max von Sydow is clearly an immortal being. 89 and still playing around in movies.
He was Jesus at one point. Mighta rubbed off a bit. I wonder if he can do the water to wine thing? I've tried. All I can do is beer into piss.

Is there anyone who after watching Prashant Dhawan sir 😅
Prashant sir ki video dekhkar kon kon idhar aaya hai.. like kro
Wow" I truly salute you "" You are not expendable to me" The one's in power are.. I wish you health and happiness :)
I hope there is a post-credits scene, Marvel style:

@@molos3466 Putin blocked the rescue effort, because he had no empathy, placing state technology above the men that run it. His derelict, ancient state technology, for the sake of saving face and protecting the false image that Russian military is somehow mysteriously superior.
This makes me sad for all the Russian soldiers sent to fight and die in Ukraine for no real reason; their government letting their troops down again.

Listen to the entire video instead of just some snipped clip!
The smile was from a previous topic!
Ivan Petrov
Ivan Petrov
I can't say that it's a great movie, because it's based on a real life tragedy.

Harry Hart tried to save the Kursk Crew? What a Kingsman!!!
😁
Come here because KRI Nanggala 402 😭 I hope the soldiers' acts of worship are accepted by the almighty 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hahha, nothing will happen, don't worry)

Kursk was an accident, the Russian response was the tragedy.
Beautiful, but also heartbreaking film. I cried many tears. May they Rest In Peace. Arrogance and pride let those poor men take the fall. Such tragedy. Do watch, near perfect film
RIP to the crew of the Kursk
Very sad that they left the crew to die in real life just to keep their own ego high
This is heartbreaking when I watched this movie about 2 years ago, and now I can't believe this happened to Indonesian submarine KRI Nanggala 402 carrying 53 crew members. And all of them are now on eternal patrol🥀🇮🇩😭
I just watched it! God it made me cry
Thousands of brave men and women have died in non combat situations,,and thier relatives and friends are lied to and silenced ..This happens in ALL countrys ...
I want to watch this movie badly. But i am already fighting depression, can't handle this. May these sailors rest in peace.
Matthias Schoenaerts = Greatest Screen Actor Alive
If you disagree go watch Bullhead, The Drop, and Rust and Bone; three different languages three different unbelievably compelling, authentic, note perfect performances that were the highlight of their respective films; films where you see him (Matthias) starring opposite brilliant brilliant performers!!
Randall Emerson Appleby Agree100%
I pretty much agree with you, there is an allure about him...
He also reminds me a bit of another fine actor, the Swedish Michael Nyqvist, who though a little older, passed away at a much too young an age in 2017, sadly. I had a hope of seeing them together in some movie or other.
also Blood Ties.
Totally agree! I thought he was brilliant in De Rouille et d'os and Le Fidèle
@@Cortezzio
Absolutely, even though his recent re-teaming with Roskam in "Le Fidele" resulted in a bit of a weaker film (imho) then Bullhead, or TheDrop; Matthias Performance was yet again, never less than extremely gripping!
Prashant Dhawan ❤
Sailors are sailors. We are all brothers
I've heard submariners feel as if theyare of one country, earth. they are all brothers and sisters
20 years ago now :(
May those men rest in eternal peace
Respect from Britain
I like how they showed brotherhood relationship in this movie, every single one counting on the other mentality. Even the guy who went crazy, and wanted to get out, in the end he was standing there singing with the others
Good that it is a European movie, If it was done by Hollywood, all the Kursk crew would have been females!
No gender humans
Or Chinese.
Would have been a mix between Cossacks and Pussy Riot members.
Or would have survived.
Please read before writing one part of the navy's'world admit females in the submarine service
I’m a simple man, I see Léa Seydoux in the title, I click.

This is a lie, since Putin learned about it the next day. And they initially refused to accept help. If we had accepted the help, they could be saved

Rest in peace, those souls, who have been taken to the Davy Jone's locker. May any sailor ever be losing their life at sea like those submariners did.
I understand the intention to "help" and also the reason for denying such help. But those fellow sailors and their families, I can never reason for their lives.

Who comes here after world affairs❤❤❤❤
After all, many of the Russian stories come forward, although we all knew well what happened then, but getting a movie on it shows something completely different, what makes the most evil is, none of the gentlemen in the top were held accountable, they did not care if the soldiers died, as long as they did not themselves lose face, just look at Chernobyl, exactly the same, those responsible are not punished
I remember this tragedy in UK in my 30s, it could have been where at least some of the crew could have been saved, if not for the stubborn Russian government.
It's a shame this movie flopped at the box office. Excellent film.
I hadn’t even heard about this disaster till recently on another video
Pray for KRI Nanggala 402
Glad to see their stories being told. Despite the adversarial stance of the Russian and Western navies nobody of sound mind wanted to see sailors and their families hurt. Much respect to the submariners who went down with the Kursk.
The Kursk was lost under Putin's watch and by most accounts, this former KGB Head didn't really give a damn as long Russian national pride is preserved above all else. Tragic.
Thank you for this great movie! From Russia.

2.Someone know this song what ja in background?
They can start making the 2nd part it seems
I feel that with K-19 Widowmaker, if this is a 'western' film, we'll probably find a way or only telling half the story :-(
It's a tragic story and tbh idk why they're making a film about it.
i remember that woman telling the whole world how she felt and she was just shut down very sad i believe that the crew could have been saved but the leader's of the country did nothing
The music seems crazy
When does it come to cinema in Italy?
I feel sorry for those men who died on the Kursk even though I’m an American I respect their bravery and their attempts to stay alive until help came but sadly it was too late I remembered asking myself why didn’t the government help them by asking international help if they did that after their attempts failed to dock on the the Kursk then the 23 men could have been saved before the submarine itself was flooded and the explosion could have been prevented if the torpedo that carried the hydrogen peroxide fuel wasn’t on the submarine damaged in the first place and also if everything was upgraded and maintenance in the Navy before the navy exercise then the outcome would have been different and the crew would have survived and been with their wives and children
May the crew of the Kursk rest in peace
