The Ensemble Cantus Firmus Surselva presents a composition by Gion Balzer Casanova with lyrics by Flurin Camathias for the memorial concert "La sera sper il lag".
With the memorial concert of 31.10.2021 we remembered two great personalities of the local culture. On 3 June 2021 it was 130 years since the birth of the musician, music teacher and composer Duri Sialm - originally from Segnas/Disentis and later living in Chur. He died there on 18 December 1961. But it is not these two dates that have encouraged us to look into his life and work, but the quality of his compositions.
The 150th anniversary of the birth of the clergyman, poet and author Flurin Camathias from Laax was celebrated on 6 March 2021. He was a parish priest in Brigels, Andiast and Siat. Flurin Camathias died on 3 June 1946. He is considered one of the most important Romansh poets and authors. Countless of his poems have been set to music.
