- Netlify CMS is almost dead. Maybe life support. Thankfully there is StaticCMS, a newer, fresher face to the open-source that was/is/still is Netlify CMS.
Here's how to nearly seamlessly transition from Netlify CMS to StaticCMS.
gatsby-plugin-static-cms

StaticCMS

you should use contentful as they and gatsby dance together
Oh I completely agree with them dancing together. Netlify CMS / StaticCMS are just an option. Plus Netlify did just buy Gatsby. So who knows what the future holds. Good idea though to build a tutorial with Contentful & Gatsby. :)
@@ADesignerWhoCodes contentful is way better and easier than these 2 both, also, a lot of documentation how to work in gatsby, Netlify bought gatsby, but it doesn't mean that they are good at CMS, I would go contentful because this is the ONLY thing they do, as of netlify, they are a cloud provider, the cms thing is a side project IMO.
Now there's another new Netlify/Static CMS replica - Decap CMS
It's actually just NetlifyCMS. I believe netlify stopped funding for it, and handed it over to Decap, and they just recently completed the rebranding. If you look at the repo you will see it's the same repo as NetlifyCMS, with the same commits, issues, etc.
Decap CMS is basically Netlify CMS. Static CMS is basically the same.
it doesn't look like it's dying since some small update have been made
Correct. It’s not dying any longer. Same process works for both :)
@@ADesignerWhoCodes what is your preferred CMS between the two right now?
@@meonitelexdee3432 I’m using static CMS. I don’t know why but I prefer that one. Maybe because while the other was dying this one held steady.
