i would say even though digital is no doubt better for collaboration and teaching and all of these activities done in front of a screen anyhow, having "lost" a physical office space made me even more trying to reach out to people physically just because you lose that commute or connection to people in general. That's how i became friends with my neighbour and a couple of other people from my building (as we have a common lounge downstairs). No matter how introverted you are you will always have the need/desire for physical community. So I totally support you for the last part especially.
