I loved this, and I really loved the fact that you 'talked' us through the process. Often I watch a tutorial once, then try the technique on scrap yarn while listening to the description. I haven't been able to do that previously with your RUclipss because they were silent. I hope you will talk more often now! Thank you!
Love it! I often wondered why not hide the buttonhole in the ribbing. When doing YO buttonholes, that's where I place them. Now I have another technique. I love the idea that when a cardigan is open, the band will look nice. People often say, this buttonhole doesn't look nice, but the button will cover. Most of the time, I wear my cardigans open. That's the point of cardigans in my opinion. Thanks so much for this!
Loved watching this. I am so glad to see buttonholes made in ribbing. I struggled with them in a knitted cardigan I made last year. Now future cardigans will look very, very much better! Thanks Julie.
I have a question. I'm making a cardi for a gift, and don't know whether the recipient will be wearing it buttoned, unbuttoned, or will often/frequently be buttoning and unbuttoning. I want to make buttonholes that will stand up well to the wear from being repeatedly buttoned and unbuttoned. Do you have an opinion on the sturdiness of this buttonhole? (The pattern uses a 2x2 ribbing.) If you think this buttonhole might be too fragile for repeated buttoning/unbuttoning, do you have a suggestion for a different buttonhole which would be sturdier? Thanks.
The Best buttonholes tutorial!! Thank you for sharing this video!
